If you were world-renowned in your field, contributed decades to improving public health, were given commendations by multiple presidents and medical organizations for your work, led the country through major pandemics, would you want to stay in a role where you were suddenly constantly criticized and undermined by your current administrator and were receiving death threats?

All those plaudits are purely subjective. Where is the evidence that he deserves them? Other than the mask edict (which he has contradicted himself on), what brilliant idea has he contributed that improved public health?

He’s 79, I’m pretty sure we’re going to lose him eventually.

He should have retired long ago and we wouldn’t have gotten so many mixed signals.

“...The Trump administration has continually tried to silence or discredit Fauci...” Yeah, I never heard a word from this guy. Who is he again? LOL! The lames are a caricature of themselves.

Wait...is this supposed to be bad news?

The guy who told us the virus was no big threat to the US until mid-March and then used a faulty epidemic model and got Trump to advise the governors to shutdown their citizens and economies ... some still doing so?

Maybe, if Fauci had not changed his mind so often, shredding his own credibility, people would respect him

Fauci actively sought out the public spotlight as aggressively as any Hollywood starlet. Magazine covers, human interest stories, first pitches, and interviews, interviews, INTERVIEWS.

Anyone who is in the public spotlight can tell you that it’s impossible to please everyone and that a substantial portion of the public is simply not going to like you. Whatever you do is GOING to be criticized.

The group that dislikes you will include a certain percentage of cranks, stalkers, and dangerous psychos. So nearly everyone in the public eye gets threats.

And when you take controversial positions the amount of negative blowback you receive increases exponentially.

All of that apparently comes as a surprise to this man who is allegedly brilliant.

Anthony Fauci MD, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is in that position. The Trump administration has continually tried to silence or discredit Fauci.***

WTH, is this lady smoking? Must be pretty good!

First, the Trump administration has NOT tried to silence or discredit Fauci. He has discredited himself, and the administration has let him, nearly constantly, speak about the virus and his ideas, practically non-stop.

Second, the author has completely ignored the fact that Fauci has discredited another “world-renowned” in his field, etc., etc., by publicly dissing the work of Marseille-based doctor and professor Didier Raoult, who has contributed decades to improving public health, was given commendations by multiple presidents and medical organizations for his work, led the country through major pandemics. Dr. Raoult has been criticized by Fauci, and Fauci is jealous.

A serious scientist who is seeking respect would not transform himself into a cover model or the Clown Prince of Nationals Park.

“Losing fauci’s guidance” would be a big PLUS for America. The quack and nonpracticing doctor who has been a government “worker’ for most of his life has changed his story and been wrong much of the time. What a compromised bum.

Dr. Fauci's "guidance" has less certainty and resolve than a squirrel running across the road.

The little peckerwood needs to vanish.

What really happened is that Fauci has been exposed.

You would think she might be able to recognize the manipulation going on all around us, but it just proves confirmation bias is also very real.

***When is the last thing he has personally run, investigated, learned, etc. ***

Yes, quite unlike his French counterpart, Dr. Didier Raoult. Dr. Raoult has a far more distinguished career than Anthony Fauci.
