Graham has his shortcomings, but keeping his vote on our side has to take precedence. On balance, I’d say it is more likely he would vote with us on the important issues, moreso than the ‘Rat alternative.
Trump will likely win and carry a majority in the senate. Now is the time to start thinking about the next term. Having a coalition of democrats with never-trump republican congressman in key positions blocking Trump for another 4 years will be unacceptable.
This is most likely what will happen. The next four years will be EXACTLY like the last four years. Happy talk about how great it will be after the election are fantasies. The GOP will obstruct and undermine POTUS every bit as much as they do now.
The Romney-Bush wing including Lindsey have been supportive of the the conservative court picks because it does not threaten their open-borders, neoconservative view. But that’s about as far as it will go.
They support confirming them because these judges will support the Chamber of Commerce corportist agenda. But when we need them on something like stopping tranny madness these “GOP” judges go AWOL. That’s why it’s a fools errand to base all our decisions on GOP judges. They are just not worth it.
IF Republicans HOLD THE SENATE, then it is literally IMPOSSIBLE for the Democrats to PACK THE COURTS. The entire issue is DOA. And we very likely have the Supreme Court we’ve always dreamed of for at least the next 5 years, and possibly far, far, longer.
LOL. Have you been paying attention at all to how Gorsuch and Kavanaugh vote? They vote with the Dems on big cases often. If ACB is Scalia 2.0 then it will leave SCOTUS at 5-4 in favor of the Democrats on most cases. We are light years away from a conservative court and will likely never have one.
What if your alternative was a liberal Dem?
The GOP voters need to figure out what the Dems figured out decades ago. The time to weed out your duds is in the primaries, not the general election.

It’s really as simple as what you said earlier in the thread. No Dem Senate = no attempted court packing. And that’s good not just because court packing itself would be a disaster, but because the mere threat of it might lead the Court to make wrong decisions to discourage it.

Wonderful. And that has gotten us what exactly? Meanwhile, trannies are now covered under the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The vote wasn’t even close and Kavanaugh wrote a glowing “dissent.” These judges are not going to save us.
The fact is it doesn’t matter what Democrat do if we do not have a political party opposing them. Sooner or later the Dems will win in a walk over. Right now the GOP under the leadership of Graham is fully supportive of the ongoing coup against POTUS and continues to disenfranchise the 60 million Americans who voted for Trump. Given that Graham deserves to lose.

Trump bought my kids 4 years of a still-livable country (vs. what Hillary would have done). Preventing Court Packing would provide my kids another 10 years of it, regardless of who’s in the White House.

Graham has personally done far more to enable the progressive agenda and obstruct POTUS than you or I will ever do. He deserves to lose. I wish it was different but it is what it is. Graham made his own bed.

Very few Republicans give a damn about Trump(otherwise you’d see them actually defending Trump against the Democrats, at least once in a while), and, since it’s just as likely that Graham’s replacement, even if a Republican, will be just as Deep State as Graham, so that cannot be you motivation .
Again, supporting people who will PACK THE COURTS tells me something is off with you. I don’t what, and I’m through trying to guess (I can think of many motivations), but something with you is WAY OFF.

Our constitutional republic is being dismantled NOW. POTUS has little operational control of the executive branch thanks to the coup enabling GOP. You can thank “Republicans” like Graham for that. The big problem isn’t Democrats. They’ve always been bad. What’s different now is that we have no party substantively opposing them.
Sorry, I’m not interested in supporting coupists. Graham took an active and public role in the coup for 4 years. After not supporting POTUS in 2016 and keeping his judiciary chair. Not every GOP Seantor did that.
Dems have no need to pack the court. CJ Roberts and 3 Dems is 4 solid liberal votes. Add in either of Gorsuch and Kavanaugh on big cases and the Dems will get what they want with a 5-4 majority. All the court packing talk is GOTV red meat for both parties. That is all.
This needs to be done strategically. Target certain RINOs for elimination In primaries.
