Well the PA GOP can ask for relief for that. Look at what Alito said Last paragraph:
“In addition to an expedited schedule, Republicans had asked the Supreme Court to order Pennsylvania to keep ballots that are received after Nov. 3 separated. Pennsylvania told the justices earlier on Wednesday that it will do so voluntarily.
Alito wrote that nothing prevented the GOP from asking the Supreme Court for relief “if, for some reason, it is not satisfied” with the assurance provided by the state.”
What? Did she recuse herself or something?

Being a person in a position to approve or disapprove data based on the data’s approval worthiness, I am not so much being high-minded as keeping in focus the job of a Justice - to evaluate the law and the arguments made with respect to the law. In many other arenas I agree - it is time we fight fire with fire.
But having a SCOTUS justice who rules knee-jerk in our favor is beyond what I am willing to espouse.

Just noting that goes both ways. You could get a democrat legislature (or a RINO one) voting to allow questionable votes to be counted when a judge would prohibit it, and under this rule the judge’s opinion wouldn’t matter.
So your answer is to subvert the rule of law in order to win.

If we, as conservatives, demand that SCOTUS do our bidding so we can win (even in the face of likely democrat misconduct), then we have thrown away the rule of law. Fight the fraud in court - but I cannot endorse the idea that a decision like this should be made without adequate contemplation - and one day (versus other justices’ several days) is not adequate.
You are arguing that the dealer rolling back the mileage on a car doesn’t hurt YOU because you were the one that traded the car in.
Frankly, that “win at all cost” attitude makes me sick. Winning dishonestly is not winning. Fighting honestly means applying the rules - as viciously as necessary.

Now just settle down. Justice Barrett has not had time to review the case, documents and the law as it should be applied in this case. Being a justice on the Supreme Court isn’t like judging America’s Got Talent.
So a properly seated Associate Justice of the Supreme Court ruling on a case that she is perfectly entitled to rule on under the CONSTITUTION is subverting the law?

No, my approach is not Marquis of Queensbury rules. It is requiring that the approver/disapprover have enough time to consider the data.
I can tell you have never been in a position of approval/disapproval authority. You certainly have no issue with deciding based on predisposition, rather than on the data presented.
You should be very happy every time you fly that people like myself and Justice Barrett do not subscribe to your philosophy. My job is to make sure the software that runs the systems on the airplane is safe. I cannot, and will not, do so based on my emotions.
But you would that I make such decisions whimsically, rather than on the data presented. Sometimes principle must rise above politics. It’s a pity you cannot see that.

One other note. The decision was 5-3. Barrett’s vote to not support the extension would not have decided the case any differently.
But you still would rather she act out of your self-interest rather than support the actual laws, not to mention proper jurisprudence.
