WI Gov. Evers issues new mask order as hospitals near capacity

MADISON, Wis. — In response to the surging COVID-19 case numbers and hospitals being overwhelmed with incoming patients, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers issued a new emergency order and public face covering order on Friday for all residents over the age of five to wear coverings in all indoor settings, with some exceptions.

Bullspit. I don’t know where you get your information. Our hospitals are setting new records every day for the number of patients with real covid disease. The death rate while fortunately not rising much is far from zero. While I am not a proponent of masking and lockdowns the surge is real and is still killing people

It's not a question of the hospital being 'near capacity' ... hospitals have a set number of beds available for China Virus patients. When those beds are full, the hospital cannot simply make more beds available.

China Virus patients have specific beds in a part of the hospital that are dedicated to it. Specific doctors, nurses, etc.. are also assigned. As it's been explained to me by a nurse and hospital administrator who are both working on this issue, it's not as simple as "beds." It takes time to shift doctors, nurses, etc.. over to China Virus care, and then before they are allowed to go back to their "regular duties" they have to quarantine for two weeks first.

So again, it's not that hospitals are at capacity, it's that the beds they've allocated for China Virus patients are "full."

As for me, I sure as heck have a new appreciation for all the doctors, nurses, other healthcare workers, hospital administrators, etc.. that are all working on this. It damn' sure didn't sound easy to me when it was being explained to me.

I completely agree with you. I think the political response has been an absolute disaster from many states; particularly ones run by Democrats. Far from being helpful, they’ve destroyed the economy, ruined lives, driven families into poverty, and some (like Cuomo) have caused deaths with policies like forcing nursing homes to accept known-infected patients.

I agree the response is terrible, but the problem does actually exist. Claiming it’s all sunshine and roses out there right now defies observable reality.

that was the spanish flu, 100 yrs ago.

in that situation, there wouldn’t be any proportioning of beds for one illness or another. every hospital would be a mash triage unit.

You're not getting an argument from me on that point. :-)

Anything with a 99.996+% recovery rate isn't a pandemic. Certainly not a deadly one and certainly nothing to shut down an entire economy over.

(And I say this as one of the high risk people who the virus would likely kill due to an autoimmune disorder that I have.)

I had a doctor here in Longmont, Co. tell me the hospitals were filled to capacity and the staff were dropping from exhaustion. I told him I didn’t believe him and he said ‘you voted for Trump didn’t you?’. I drive by our hospitals and they looked abandoned except for emergency vehicles. My friends wife ,a nurse, got laid off because of lack of work. Someones lying big time.

Sort of -- no -- exactly like the reality that a half-year-plus of compelled masking, mandated 2-yard distancing and the myriad other un-Constitutional restrictions haven't done a damn thing to "stop the spread" of this respiratory virus. They sure as hell have not "stopped the spread of the lies and tyranny" of politicians, unelected bureaucrats and, of course, The Experts. Cheers!

I get my information directly from contact with hundreds of physicians across the nation who are not seeing anything close to a spike in Covid. MANY have not seen a single case in months. Most of these physicians practices are geriatric patients. Terminal comorbidity is universal in all Covid deaths. This is an absolute scam.
Hospitals receive substantial government money from Covid diagnosis regardless of the stage or manifestation. We just had an election stolen. Do you believe the same thieves guilty of stealing our election are not capable of generating fraudulent stats on Covid?
