Famed Boston Red Sox pitcher-turned-conservative commentator Curt Schilling said Tuesday that American International Group (AIG) had cancelled his insurance plan due to his "social media profile."
"We will be just fine, but wanted to let Americans know that @AIGinsurance canceled our insurance due to my 'Social Media profile,'" Schilling said on Twitter.
Schilling shared a screenshot purportedly showing an AIG employee telling him that while they appreciate that he's been a "long time AIG client since 2004" "it was a management decision that was made collectively between underwriting and marketing teams that could not be overturned."

It’s hard to believe this is legal. It should absolutely be illegal to discriminate on the basis of political views if it isn’t already.
It’s past time...
Does anyone know what KIND of insurance this is? Life? Something else? Thank you.
Yes, this would be the same corrupt and speculating AIG that all taxpayers had the privilege of bailing out in a major way back in 2008.
🤢🤮
Social media ratings are now ruling people’s ability to live. Insurance isn’t mandatory, per se, but the fact that someone can be denied insurance for social media presence is a sign of social media scoring writ large.
INGENIOUS - on their part.
The Constitution prevents them from ‘canceling’ people they disagree with - so they simply went around the Constitution, by using private companies (either by taking control, or extorting them).
...and they knew that enough Republicans were STUPID ENOUGH to defend them, as they ramped it up over the past 5 years or so.
We were outsmarted - we lose.
Forget about “being okay,” damn it! We need to stop being okay with being discriminated against. He needs to sue big time. For all of us!!!
WTF -
And of all companies to do this.
What does it take to convince people to abandon social media?
Tiny bakers have to bake a gay cake, but huge corporations who buy off politicians in exchange for huge tax payer bailouts can discriminate.
The New American Way.
They practiced on the Chinese people first. Now, here in the US, they knew that the government was going to be slow to implement social scoring, so it looks like the CCP "connected somehow" businesses are making it part of our lives anyways.
It’s well past time to start preparing. If you’re not ready for self-sustaining behaviors, you’re going to get caught up in the maelstrom. It’s only a matter of time before we’ll have to prove a positive social media score to even walk out of the house.
Sue what?
It is not illegal.
Your elected officials have not made it illegal to discriminate based on political views....not in service, employment or anything.
Oh, they protected every sub-group that the left championed....but our vaunted conservatives like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and others did NOTHING to safeguard political speech.
Now, political speech of a certain type equals domestic terrorism.
Thank you for nothing.

You’re right, BobL.
I laugh every time I hear a moderate Republican say they “hope” the left will treat us fairly and not double down on this sort of stuff in the spirit of unity and bipartisanship. Yeah, hope the left will do a 180 and be decent people? LOL.
Too many people still haven’t woken up or simply don’t care because it hasn’t yet affected them. I don’t mean being woke. I mean the country is now in the hands of very un-American, totalitarian people.
Your Social Score has displeased Dear Leader.”
The cancel culture online army is massive, organized and well funded. They employ strategies to quickly attack high profile targets, destroy them, and move on to the next. Since there is no counter offensive, companies are quick to respond and comply. There are many companies run by Leftists who are happy to join the attack. The politically middle of the road companies comply because they are afraid of being attacked. The few companies that stand firm have strongly principled conservative leadership.
