Therein lies the cunumdrum: Princess Diana became Princess Diana because of the media, because she was photogenic. The royal family is sustained by the media publicity and would otherwise be considered even more useless today than it already is. The queen knows how to deal with the media: “Don’t complain. Don’t explain.” But her kids and grandkids are not always so savvy in this time of instant reaction and irrelevance fifteen minutes later. I don’t condone predatory media but I also get tired of people who were made by the media now complaining about the media attention. The media has always been a powerful enemy and a treacherous friend. Those who don’t realize that need to get out of the kitchen.
He couldn’t marry Camilla because she had already done the dirty deed and they couldn’t have that.
Photogenic? I don’t believe it. Beautrix and Eugenia are not exactly beauties.
Anne was beautiful when younger. She didn’t age well.
The media lies. Everyone knows that. The Royals know that.
Trying to dictate who the future Princess Consort might be has always been the job of the current king or queen. Arranged marriages was and still is the rule for royals.
Camilla was off the market since she’d already married Bowles. That likely pleased Liz since Camilla didn’t have enough royal blood and was just as much a dud as Charles. Charles needed to marry someone who could give him an image boost.
The divorce was caused by Chuckles wanting to be, in his words, Camilla’s tampon. Diana did her duty by giving the family an heir and a spare but that was the end of her usefulness to them. Chuckles treated her like dirt and couldn’t abide her popularity vs his ho hum boring lackluster public image. He nor Liz nor their grey suits helped her, shielded her or welcomed her much into the family.
It was the drunk driver and probably Dodi’s ego encouraging the driver to speed that caused her death.
That said, funny with the timing of this. Smoke and mirrors. Ignore the man behind the curtain. It smells of distraction. Phillip is dead. Liz is getting on in years. A couple years ago Liz presented Chuckles to the Commonwealth as her successor. Give pressers (who’s using who?) to take the blame off Chuckles and the family. Enter stage left Princess Consort Horseface with her proper British millinery.
That is ridiculous.
