Chris and Roberta Laundrie, the parents of fugitive Brian Laundrie, ventured into Florida’s Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park early Wednesday morning, where Fox News Digital saw an officer apparently tell parents that law enforcement "might have found something."

Chris and Roberta Laundrie, the parents of fugitive Brian Laundrie, ventured into Florida’s Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park early Wednesday morning, where Fox News Digital saw an officer apparently tell parents that law enforcement "might have found something."

Steven Bertolino, who represents the Laundrie family, would not comment when asked by Fox News Digital if the Laundries were at the park at the request of law enforcement. Brian Laundrie has been named a person of interest in the disappearance and subsequent homicide of his fiancee, Gabby Petito. The FBI later issued a warrant for his arrest on charges related to his unauthorized used of her bank card.

The Laundries, who have claimed their son went to Myakkahatchee on Sept. 13, the day he was last seen, left their North Port home just before 7:15 a.m. local time for the environmental park, where two men in hiking gear – including at least one who later identified himself as a law enforcement officer – began trailing behind them. The Laundries and one of the men appeared to discuss a discovery before the parents left the park, which was then closed to media and the public.

In a worldwide exclusive, video obtained by Fox News Digital shows the Laundries and the law enforcement officer huddling and speaking as the officer appears to show the couple an unknown discovery. The officer appeared to tell the parents: "I think we might have found something."

It appears that Laundrie killed his girlfriend, and then killed himself a few weeks later. Had he gone to the police immediately after killing Gabby, he might well have been able to make a plea down to manslaughter. His parents facilitated this tremendous mistake by hiding what they knew from the Petito family, and by not urging their son to turn himself in. Bad acts and horrible decisions, and two young people are dead.

The Petito family has acted with dignity and have tried to give some sense of honor and purpose to their daughter's short life. The Laundries have now become infamous. If there is a lesson here, confront bad news head on, and don't make it worse.

I’m not convinced he killed anyone. Time will tell.

Unless he has been dead all this time, committed suicide months ago.

Then they have not been helping him and have, like the rest of us, just discovered he’s dead and they’ve been unfairly maligned and harassed.

That’s why it’s best to hold off predictions made from nowhere and let the authorities do their job and find out in the end the facts of the case.

Well said. Yes it is always best to hold off a bit until the facts are known on a case like this.

And now the authorities say that Brian’s notebook, backpack, and what may be his remains were found in area that was recently underwater and not searched during the initial investigation into the Carlton Reserve. Add that to all the numerous sightings supposedly of Brian Laundrie from Canada to Mexico the last month and a half. Something is real fishy about all of this.

I’m not convinced he killed anyone.

It was absolutely obvious from his interactions with the police that he has big issues. Very, very, very abnormal.

and his parents just so happened to be in the same area this morning before this stuff was “found” there are other missing people in the area, possible the parents planted the items near remains that could be anyone. I guess it will take a few days to find out for sure. I can eat crow and admit that I was wrong if it turns out to be him, I thought he was definitely either in Canada or Cuba, no way still here..but maybe its like the Caylee Anthony case, her remains were underwater due to a hurricane, once the water receded, her remains floated up

Per statements from the Laundrie's own attorney:

Bertolino says his clients called him yesterday and said they wanted to search the reserve since it was back open. Bertolino says he called police and told them the Laundries would be at the reserve at 7am today. He says police met them [there]

Chris and Roberta and 2 officers were spread out on either side of the trail. He says Chris found a bag containing some of Brian's items -- and officers found the backpack on the other side of trail which was near the remains

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but even now nothing about the attorney or parents tells me they don't know this kid is alive and well. Furthermore, law enforcement is either completely incompetent or covering for this family. Them planting evidence or falsifying results wouldn't shock me.

Yes, namely:

1. Someone at Fox knows how to copy & paste.

2. Mama Laundrie is the type to wear a mask in the vast outdoors with only her husband around.

Wanted to inform you the “preserve” is accessible via a bridge adjacent to the park put there by N Port years back that goes across the Myayka Creek into the “Preserve”
Most of the park has been under water all hurricane season, its receding.
There is another “Preserve” entrance up in Venice 17 or so miles N. that you have confused with the park.

Park and preserve are 2 different tracks of land

Cops have been camped in the closed park for weeks and entering the “Preserve” via that bridge.

If the remains are NOT their son, makes ya wonder if they really did plant evidence..why all of a sudden today they decided to go “Look” all of this time, this past month, did these parents look like people who were concerned about the well being of their son, worried that he might have killed himself, nope..they know he’s fine..I heard today there are other missing people in that nature preserve so its possible its someone elses body and they saw it and planted his clothing, etc there

Casey’s parents are crazier than the cocoa puffs bird..they knew from the beginning she killed her kid, this whole “She drowned in the backyard pool” was such a hunk of nonsense..kids unfortunately do drown, happens especially in the summer time, but the parents don’t hide the body of the kid to make it look like a murder
