The vaccine conundrum and the Mayo Clinic: Why do 700 employees prefer to lose their jobs rather than be vaccinated?
American Thinker ^ | 01/11/2022 | Matt Dean

This week, some 700 unvaccinated Mayo Clinic employees lost their jobs because they did not agree to take the COVID-19 vaccine or did not receive a medical or religious exemption. In addition, an unknown number of Mayo employees have already quit or retired to avoid being fired. The move comes as hospitals throughout the country struggle with a surge in hospital admissions combined with severe staff shortages.

Mayo, like many corporations, is between a rock and a hard place due to President Biden’s federal vaccine mandate. They have been put in a uniquely difficult position because their multistate clinic is often relied upon to develop and promote government public health policy.

For decades, Mayo has provided trusted medical advice to the country and world. At a time when public trust in the federal government’s ability to lead the pandemic recovery has eroded, we would all benefit from Mayo’s leadership in realizing that they made a mistake in terminating these frontline workers.

Like many local elected officials, Minnesota state Rep. Steve Drazkowski (R-21B) began hearing from constituents who faced a real conundrum: get vaccinated or get fired. Drazkowski’s constituents are some of the 47,500 employees of the Mayo Clinic, his state’s largest employer.

Given the present circumstances, it is imperative that Mayo Clinic, and medical facilities throughout America, put their patients and employees above political grandstanding.

In a nutshell, that is our dilemma:

The Federal government has largely taken over the healthcare industry and the health of the patients is now secondary (or worse) to politics. It will be next to impossible, but we need to put the horse back in the barn. . . .

Any medical professional who took the Jim Jones Jab is a fool or a hostage and can't be trusted with patient care. These Pfascist drug korporations still haven't released the data on their illicit concoction and the government representatives such as Fauxi and Walensky lied about COVID-1984.

Between a rock and a hard place?!?

SNORT.

Mayo has been aiding and abetting Deep State from the get-go.

Note to Mayo (and the rest of Big Med): Hope your rep was worth it.

Interesting that people who work there are saying no to the vaccine. Good for them. Not good if they lose their jobs but they are standing on their principles. Wonder if this will make a difference in how the USSC comes down on the issue!! Haven’t turned any news on so I don’t know if there’s any news about that. It was reported AS IF the decision wasn’t going to wait until June. If they honor the oath they took, there’s only one way it will go.

All Mayo has to do is give everyone who asks for it a religious exemption and move on.

Why? Because they think it unwise to inject into themselves some quickly ginned up untested crap that doesn’t seem to work as claimed against a disease that isn’t terribly deadly for the vast majority of people.

My wife says “those 700 know something the rest of us do not”.

What about the 98.5% of Mayo employees who did get the shot?

Did they know something?

“What about the 98.5% of Mayo employees who did get the shot?”

I’m not vaccinated but I have to agree with this. 700 employees is a tiny percentage and not meaningful regarding vaccine rejection.

Most “medical professionals” are affirmative-action automatons.

Mayo Clinic medical professionals, not so much.

And the vast, vast majority of those Mayo employees chose to get vaccinated.

Well, we didn’t need to know it was worse. We just needed to know the government was going to try to force it on us before they tested it properly to find out if it would be worse.

That’s enough for me to “opt out”.

I’d be interested in the breakdown, as well. What percent of that 700 are doctors? In US health care workers In general, vaccine refusal goes up as educational/professional level decreases.

I have a friend who works at JPL, and when a few dozen people protested the vaccine mandate there, she said it was mostly security and low level administrative workers, none or very few of the scientists.

There is a much much bigger number of people who didn’t want the vaxxine but decided to gamble on their health just to have that good paying job

I retired last summer, and I feel like I dodged a bullet. I was a public school teacher in California, and I know for a fact that every teacher at my former school either got the shot or was fired.

There is also a more than slight chance the fired employees will be part of lawsuit. As all of us amature attorneys know it is much better position to have actual damages than go to court and premptivly stop a employment action.

The 700 are looking at the chance to move to something without taxable income while still having a very good chance at a big check for not working. Duel Income households with new parents would be insane not to have one family member burn family leave and get fired instead of going to part time/sub work. Specialists doctors, a ton that just look at medical imaging 7+ hours a day , can move their same work effort to another corporation that is a services vendor to Mayo. There are probably also 500 lax employees who are on staff but work less than 200 hours a year....IT trainers, super specialists, semi retired management consultants saying to Mayo we will see you in the consulting role later.

Correct me if I’m wrong here.
700 out of 47,500 employees choose not to get vaccinated
46,800 out of 47,500 employees choose to get vaccinated

So...
98.5% of medical professionals chose vaccination
1.5% of medical professionals chose no vaccination

This does not favor the opinion that the vaccination is dangerous.
