Funny how every time a glacier retreats, evidence of human activity is found; spear points, etc. yeah, never, ever been as warm as now.
Global warming = more successful crops and less heating fuel used. That would be a big win if it actually happened.

Coldest Maine winter in decades.
Meanwhile, my local reservoir is still frozen solid; but was ice free March 3, 2016; I was catching smallmouth & trout, casting from shore. The photos popped up on FB in “My Memories” on the 3rd.
It’s called ‘weather’.
Can’t speak for northern lakes but my above ground pool in central NJ has been frozen solid since late December and just about every night since then it has been in the 20’s or below with quite a few nights in the teens and few days getting very warm. It’s been a cold winter here.
The forest service has started thinning forests and burning slash piles. About a mile south go me they lit a few slash piles and the 103 MPH wind lit off many slash piles and started a forest fire. They would rather let them burn than allow people to have fire wood.
Wyoming looks better every day.
Your graph is off. For example, it shows that the little ice age occurred in the previous millennium, which is not the case. Perhaps those last labels are off?

Good catch. Yes, I think it’s just a matter of mislabeling. The Little Ice Age would fall within the red circle. The graph itself is an accurate rendering of temps as inferred from the Greenland ice cores.
