Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has vowed to hunt down and kill “every bastard” who murdered a mom and her two kids fleeing a Kyiv suburb.
A wrenching snapshot of the tragic family’s bodies in the aftermath of a Sunday attack on Irpin captured the world’s attention. A man also seen in the photo lying on the pavement was later identified as a family member who died, too.

Remember in Afghanistan when we were pulling out and bombed a guy re-cycling water bottles killing him, another adult, and seven children? This was supposed to change the narrative about the quality of the intelligence information we had. Do you recall the punishment?

The video linked to this thread shows the family was killed by a mortar, they were not shot by individual soldiers.
Just watch it.
Mortars are used in wars, no doubt, but those firing them often do not see what they’re firing at.
That open road area had Ukrainian troops on it. They were the intended target as far as I could tell. Unfortunately, civilians were trying to reach the other side by crossing that same stretch of road. it didn’t appear to me that the Uke soldiers were forcing nor preventing them from crossing, they just tried. Heartbreaking.

Russian army does not care about civilians - cares even less about them then it does about its own losses. More civilians dead, the more terror inflicted, the more likely the enemy will run away or surrender. Killer of the ‘right’ civilians get a Hero of Russia award.
Americans fight kinder gentler wars, and do not understand just how brutal Russian forces are.
I believe the Ukraine forces have retreated to the cities because they know Pootie is hesitant to go hard on civilians for obvious reasons

Just because I do not support Ukraine does not mean I support Putin, that is a false dilemma.
I can’t say this is the 1st time that a lot of kooks have dominated the conversation on free Republic.
I’m not sure I’ve seen it with people here siding with the enemy on a national security issue during a war.
We have an absolute enemy of the United States with nuclear weapons who has threatened nato and the United States while attacking a much smaller country.
And people here are posting idiotic stories that the attack is justified because the United States of America was developing biological warfare in Ukraine.
And a lot of other things that all of our previous wars were mistakes (including ww2), that our government is a bigger enemy than China and Russia.
I’ll explain this because because idiots need it explained slowly.
Is there is a huge difference between criticizing your government even accusing it of the worst things imaginable, and comparing your government meant to an enemy during war or the threat of war.
There is a huge difference between saying that that our government sucks and saying that Hitler is better than our president or that Hitler was justified to attack a country because we were doing something there or provoked him or whatever nonsensical propaganda reason.
You don’t favorably compare our enemies and Vladimir Putin is an avowed enemy of the United States, with our own government or political leaders. That is propaganda and it is disloyal to this nation not to a particular political party or leader.
If you love the dictator Vladimir Putin and his aggressive war so much get the h*** out of America and go die at his side.

They’ve retreated to the cities because they are out-gunned, and sitting ducks in the open. In an urban setting they can put up a better defensive fight. Putin doesn’t give a sh!t about civilians.

Zelensky is a television actor who dances in women’s high-heel shoes. Anyone who doesn’t believe it can look it up online and see him dancing with other men in women’s high-heel shoes. It’s not photoshopped, it was actually televised.
Zelenskyy should be hurling missiles inside Russia by now. Specifically at the Kremlin.
