There are several local dairies in PA that process and comply.
A good friend does beef,pork,turky,and chickens off his farm. He takes it to a inpected facility. If he is selling at a premium, he could easily pass on the costs.
The USDA has made changes to actually help. There are things called mobile slaughter where the butcher comes to you. USDA inspected.
I wish the laws were changed too. Until then no one is above the law. How fair is that to competitors who do follow the law?

I buy my beef and pork whole carcass and processed by a local butcher and have for 30 years.
I raised 4 kids through 4-H animal projects and they worked summers for a sheep farmer whose products I took to local farmers markets for decades and her lambs to slaughter. (I also spin wool into yarn).
I am very familiar with farm to table inspections from county/state/federal levels. The USDA is run by DC fools who do not know their ass from a hole in the ground.
Getting rid of them would make meat prices plummet, which is not what the globalist warmers want. We will eat bugs and be grateful if they get their way.

I think they were put in place in the 30’s because a socialist wrote a fictional book about meat packing to promote socialism and unions and dipshits in congress decided to “do something” and a new national grift was born.
That was then, this is now. The USDA MIP has outlived it’s usefulness (if it ever had any) and it’s time to end it and let local and small producers compete on a truly level playing field.
