McCaskill: Floridians Who Hate Government Should Remember Feds During Hurricane
Breitbart ^ | 09/28/2022 | Pam Key

Posted on 09/28/2022 12:00:40 PM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

MSNBC contributor Claire McCaskill said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that she hoped people in Florida who hate the federal government will remember that the federal government was there for them in a time of disaster.

Discussing Hurricane Ian, McCaskill said, “Yeah, and when we are in devastating tornadoes in southwest Missouri, a very Republican area, you saw those party lines fall away. Now the one thing I do hope, Joe, to put a little politics in this. We all are praying for the people of Florida. We hope the devastation is not deadly. We are glad for the cooperation, but when it’s all over, I hope some of those Floridians who hate the federal government remember that the federal government is there for them at a time of disaster.

I wasn't going to get into it, but there really isn't a role to play where the federal government is much of a help in any disaster. One could actually argue the exact opposite is true. You need to peel back the rhetoric and think about it.

State and local governments, utility companies, and local charities along with friends and neighbors working with small businesses get things fixed pretty quick on their own. All the feds can do is trow money at it in redundancy.

As long as the federal government returns the hundreds of billions of dollars of taxes they have collected from the people of Florida through the years.

“I hope some of those Floridians who hate the federal government remember that the federal government is there for them at a time of disaster.”

And I hope some of those Federal government employees who hate Americans remember that Americans pay their salaries, and can fire them all (or worse) if they are pushed too far.

“McCaskill was a disaster as senator and was voted out as soon as the people realized she was a jibbering idiot.”

She should have been voted out in 2012 - but Todd Akin couldn’t keep his mouth and brain lined up in the same direction and she got an extra term as Senator.

Josh Hawley thankfully rid Missouri of her in 2018.

Always nice to have crooks return some of the money they
stole from you, then take credit for it like they are
some form of deity.

No, just crooks trying to buy back some credibility.

No sale!

Will the Feds loan hurricane-affected Floridians big bucks, then forgive the loans?

Claire is only gloating over the fact that the Feds have CONTROL over the situation to dole out assistance. As a flaming liberal Demoncrat her goal is to have power over the masses.

Petty Child is the understatement of the year.

I’m not making excuses for him because, unlike the 40-50million people, that actually voted for him, I’ve known he’s a nasty, incompetent, corrupt POS for quite some time. But...he has no idea what he’s doing. He doesn’t know Gov DeSantis from Adam’s house cat. He might float in and out of clarity during the day, but overall he belongs in a home.

His puppet masters just tell him what to do, hand the phone to him and tell him what to say, and then feed him jello/pudding/ice cream.

Hopefully, Trump's red tsunami of patriot supporters will elect Trump-endorsed candidate state lawmakers who will start putting a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes that the unconstitutionally big, post-17th Amendment ratification federal government cannot reasonably justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

When unconstitutional federal taxes are stopped, the states wont't be so dependent on the corrupt federal government.

“I do hope, Joe, to put a little politics in this...”

Well, Joe already has, Claire, when he refused to call the governor of Florida. I’d say that’s politics right there. I have no doubt that he and the MSM will heap praise on what a wonderful job FEMA has done. In fact, I’ll bet the stories are already written.

I don’t get it. Why do the liberals insist on politicizing a hurricane? Is it because of DeSantis, and they are ready to pile on after, when we see the level of destruction, then they will criticize the response to the hurricane?

People will clean up the mess and rebuild. The communists will come handing out money in exchange for votes. Same story every time.

Love him or hate him, he is correct.

If you flood in the interior of the country, the Corp of Engineers will not allow you to rebuild in the flood plain. You get your house flooded by a hurricane, and we all pay for them to rebuild.

Now an argument can be made that is for the good of the country, but it is still a fedgov funded thing.

What a bootlicking stooge. We PAY for the federal government to do things in an emergency. We hate it for intruding into our lives when it should be focusing on being able to better serve the People.
