Not necessarily. Even if Trump’s testimony is live, the committee will still control every detail. They will only ask him embarrassing questions, and they can rule him out of order if they don’t like what he’s saying.
Plus they can later find some minor fault in his testimony, then charge him with perjury.
Trump is naive if he thinks he’s got a sporting chance here.
I hate to bring up Hitler here, and it’s not meant to suggest Trump is Hitler.
But his testimony at his trial for the Beer Hall Putsch effectively launched his political career.
I suspect that once they realize that Trump being allowed to testify will only help him, they will bring up that comparison to Hitler.

We have the entire series and ‘Obsolete Man’ is one of our favorites.

um.. NO! that is the STUPIDEST thing imaginable. If he says ANYTHING except taking the 5th, they will charge him with lying under oath.
The first committee member to cut his mic will be declared a national hero by the press.
They CAN NOT agree to those terms.
If they do ..it means they will not follow through.
