Cruz Lays Blame for Senate Stumble at Feet of 1 Man and It Isn't Trump - So Mad He Can't Even 'See Straight'

With the disappointing results from the predicted “red wave” this midterm cycle, Republicans have been quick to point fingers at former President Donald Trump for the particularly poor performance of Republicans in the Senate races.

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, however, has specifically named Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell as the reason for Republican failure to win the upper chamber.

According to The Daily Caller, Cruz unapologetically stated on Monday’s episode of his podcast “Verdict with Ted Cruz” that McConnell’s “indefensible” abandonment of Arizona Senate candidate Blake Masters is what kept Republicans from recapturing the Senate.

Cruz co-host Ben Ferguson started the conversation by telling Cruz that Americans “want to know who is to blame” for the GOP failure to win the Senate.

“What happened? How did this happen? And who is to blame for it?” Ferguson asked.

Cruz’s response didn’t mince words.

“Well, Ben, let me start out by saying I’m so p*ssed off I cannot even see straight,” he said.

Cruz said the party had missed a “generational opportunity” to take both the House and Senate and maintain a significant majority in both houses of Congress.

“We had an extraordinary opportunity. We had a generational opportunity,” he said.

I love President Trump and will vote for him again, gladly. But unless our electoral process is fixed, he can kiss 24 goodbye. There is no way this emboldened evil will ever allow him anywhere near the WH again.

Cruz has had McConnell’s number for years.

Soon after Cruz was elected, he called out the Turtle, specifically, for lying to him about some legislation.

McConnell has got to go !

i.e. the Republican’s party - at least the GOPe and the RINO’s - is the greatest enemy of America second only maybe to the Demonicrat Party.

Democrats WANT to drive a wedge between Trump and his supporters.

There is NO ONE to take Trump's place because he has an irreproachable record of achievement. At this point in US politics ... THAT is all and everything we need...regardless of WHO can deliver it. Trump has delivered in the past and will again

Republicans will likely try to get cute again, as they always DO, and they will lose again, too!!

Mark Kelly is a former astronaut.

Conservatives will vote for him, not because they are squishy RINOs, or part of the McCain cabal, but because he is...

an effing astronaut!

If Kari Lake couldn't win AZ (either fairly or unfairly) when she was going up against a garden gnome, then who still thinks Master had a chance against...

an effing astronaut!

Does anyone think that every conservative, or even every Republican, voted against John Glenn because he was a Dem?

I agree with Cruz, and all I can see now is the Dems going for expanding the Supreme Court to as many as they want.

Exactly. It absolutely doesn't matter if it's Trump, DeSantis or Moses, the game is rigged and unless the right plays the game better, aka cheat better and more, they'll lose over and over.

Federal elections will become less and less important as states reassert their role and essentially ignore national "laws". State-based federal nullification.

McConnell doesn’t want to be majority leader. It requires too much work and responsibility for an old guy.

Until the State legislatures change the voting laws to prevent cheating, the Dems will cheat. Again, and again.

The legislatures did not have the backbone needed to even challenge the 2020 election. They won’t have the backbone to challenge the 2022 election.

The problem is much bigger than McConnell, probably half the senate or more is filled with anti-Trummpers who would rather destroy the republican village in order to “save it from Trump”. The same goes for the House.

The Turtle needs to retire. That’s the problem with congress - they just don’t know when it’s time to leave. The elections don’t allow the average person to choose anymore.

You have described the Democrat/Communists Party greatest victory of the mid-term election ... and I am certain it was carefully planned and orchestrated.

An old inept guy like McConnell manages to retain power because he knows where all the bodies are buried. He is ruthless and desperate enough to cling to his position doing whatever it takes. Schumer just did that by rigging arizona and Nevada. As in ancient Rome, reasonable, decent people are losing faith and trust in their corrupt leaders. This situation cannot last long.
