Russians are angry Putin is spending billions on an unpopular war as they freeze back home

Russians are accusing Putin of ignoring domestic problems while focusing on the war in Ukraine. Some Russians are complaining about a lack of heating in their homes, The Daily Beast reported.

Forbes Ukraine estimated last week that Russia has spent around $82 billion in war.

People living in the remote regions of the country, where conditions are at their worst, have been complaining about a lack of heating in their homes and burst water pipes, The Beast reported, citing social media posts.

Remote regions including Tyumen and Yakutia are among the worst affected, reporting many victims of frost in the past week.

"They take young men—the only breadwinners—away and send them back in coffins. The guys freeze on the front, get sick, die while their families live in poverty," Valentina Melnikova, an activist with the Soldiers' Mothers Committee, told The Beast.

"It seems authorities have no interest left in human lives at this point," she added.

Nikolay Zolotov, a Russian blogger who lives in a republic in Siberia, told the Beast: "Dark times. Ukraine is surviving without heating and light and here in Khakasia our life is awfully hard."

"Bursting pipes is not the worst problem: people live on tiny salaries in a poorly maintained city, without cash to buy food, while our government spends billions on the special operation in Ukraine," he added.

Among other costs more than $9 billion to pay off the families of servicemen killed in combat.

Mobilized Russian soldiers being deployed with little training and poor equipment have prompted more Russians to publicly voice their criticisms.

Before the war, which started on February 24, Putin admitted that poverty was Russia's biggest challenge, calling it the country's "main enemy" in 2019.

"Our main goal is to improve the quality of life for our citizens," he said.

I love how Russia goes from so dangerous to a 3rd world nothing depending on which is needed at the moment.

For Russia, think the poorest parts of Appalachia in the USA, but worse.

Better to imagine an area like Nome AK with the same geography, but without the town of Nome.

Note the boy saying he has classes in hunting and fishing!

This area has a wealth of minerals gold, diamond, coal...
Most enjoyable and I recommend her other videos as well.

There have been recent protests in this area because of the massive conscriptions. Putin’s press gangs were very active in this area. Putin does not consider these people as “REAL” Russians.

At least half of Freepers are anti-Putin, anti-Russia, anti-invasion.

Someone took a site poll and Freepers were 10 to 1 AGAINST US involvement in Ukraine.

Thanks for that post, I was just reminding another patriot of it. That is when the propaganda really took off here.

Great, maybe bidens regime change can work. Replaced wit a globalist like zelensky. Maybe they can be dance partners while the globalists take their natural resources required for going green. Obama was successful with zel… so it’s a pretty exciting time to be a globalist.

The innate Russian character of avoiding responsibility, corruption, and 70 years of destructive communism has reduced Russia to an economic and societal basket case.

Years ago I said here that Putin was an ex- KGB killer and a thug and was excoriated for it. I knew I was right then and, like you , I'm right now. Ukraine and Russia are two scorpions in a bottle. We no longer have a southern border and I'm supposed to care when the unspellables are killing the unpronouncables. I could give a rip.

What is the split on this very thread? As far as pro-Russia and pro-Ukraine? It looks 50/50 to me. What say you? Mac?

—” SMH I dont know why I even bother here. Whither FR.”

And that is exactly what the interlopers want.
They are not attempting to sway opinions on Ukraine; they want to cause dissension and discord.
They come from more than one camp but march the same route.

“Individually, you can easily be conquered, but together, you are invincible. Union gives strength.”

All I know is that Ronald Reagan would be sickened were he to come here today and see all the Putin bootlickers. I suspect the majority are just IRA operatives running multiple accounts, but there’s a certain number of people here who appear to openly admire and gravitate towards authoritative ‘strong men’ regardless of stripe. The American conservative movement is better than them IMO.

They are a lot warmer than the people in Kiev. Christmas will be nice, warm and merry in Moscow, not so much Ukraine.
