(Reuters) -Moscow's proposals for settlement in Ukraine are well known to Kyiv and either Ukraine fulfils them for their own good or the Russian army will decide the issue, TASS agency quoted Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as saying.

"Our proposals for the demilitarization and denazification of the territories controlled by the regime, the elimination of threats to Russia's security emanating from there, including our new lands, are well known to the enemy," the state news agency quoted Lavrov as saying late on Monday.

"The point is simple: Fulfil them for your own good. Otherwise, the issue will be decided by the Russian army."....

So like... this was something they could’ve said back LAST FEBRUARY while they were demanding over and over again that they had no interest in attacking Ukraine. Now, after proving how utterly broken their military forces are, they are threatening to try to do what they already tried to do a year ago?

When was the last time the U.S. invaded another country for the purpose of permanently annexing its territory?

Kosovo was annexed from another country to place NATO power and influence closer to Russia

WGAF. Sounds like something the U.S. has done with boring regularity in my lifetime.

They have been trying to impose their demands for at least 10 months. Has anything changed? I don’t think so.

Yes. Probably about a hundred thousand casualties on each side.

Huge amounts of military hardware expended on each side.

Tremendous destruction of infrastructure in Ukraine, a small amount in Russia.

Minsk II that Merkel put forth was a ruse to give time for the west and NATO to arm Ukraine and train their military [...] when it comes to their National Interests, they are putting forth the conditions to end this war.

Curious diction. Is English not your native tongue? No slight intended. Just need clarification to better understand your statements.

No, US invaded Serbia, carved off a chunk and gave it to a proxy. Much worse than pure annexation.

Russia is sounding more like the former Soviet Union every day. I’m waiting for Belarus to breakaway and join NATO. That would be the icing on the cake,

“The UN never authorized our invasion and bombing of Serbia. It was a NATO operation not a UN invasion.”

Read my post #53 again: I never said the NATO attack on Serbia was under UN authorization. However, the UN Security Council voted NOT to condemn the attack (only Russia, China, and Namibia voted for condemnation).

Moreover, the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 1244 on June 10, 1999 to address the conflict in Kosovo. If you read that, you will see that it outlines the format for resolution, including placing Kosovo under international control.

1244, in pertinent part: “Authorizes the Secretary-General, with the assistance of relevant international organizations, to establish an international civil presence in Kosovo in order to provide an interim administration for Kosovo under which the people of Kosovo can enjoy substantial autonomy within the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and which will provide transitional administration while establishing and overseeing the development of provisional democratic self-governing institutions to ensure conditions for a peaceful and normal life for all inhabitants of Kosovo.”

So, you see, the UN was very much involved in distinguishing Kosovo from Serbia as a whole, and creating Kosovar autonomy. And that was how things were until Kosovo declared independence in 2008, though international security forces still remained.

I have said many times on FR, that I was OPPOSED to NATO involvement in the Balkans in the 1990s. I thought NATO’s action was — at best — arguably acceptable politically, but came up short on the legality of it.

“With the Twitter Files, I’d say any argument made about modern-day Russia can be made about the US government.”

I see you have not disagreed with my comment about Russia and nazism, your Tu Quoque fallacy notwithstanding.

"I see you have not disagreed with my comment about Russia and nazism, your Tu Quoque fallacy notwithstanding."

I'm used to that level of deflection. The problem is that I have yet to see something like this regarding the claimed Russian 'Nazism'. One would think that with all of the hatred of Russia starting in 2014 (when they outlawed grooming of little kids), there would be something from before the war regarding Nazis in Russia...if it were true.

“I’m waiting for Belarus to breakaway and join NATO.”

Bad news, Belarus kicked out the Neocon-run NGOs, so no more Western agents there to stir things up. But I have to admit, dangling the carrot nearly worked!

So by that standard, LOL, Russia’s attack on Ukraine is authorized by the UN, since the Security Council has never voted to condemn it.

There are a number of NATO members closer to Russia than is Kosovo, and Kosovo isn’t even a member of NATO. So no, it isn’t nearly the same as invading neighboring countries simply to add them to your own territory in a war of pure conquest.

Russians have no room to talk about Nazis. They have enough of their own

Leveling Ukrainian cities, leveling the Azov steelworks to "save it". Taking out Ukrainian electricity and water. All this is Nazi like behavior. Meanwhile, the resident Putin ass kissers here call the Ukrainians Nazis, because there are 1-2 thousand Nazis or far right wingers in the Azov battalions.

Putin is leveling towns in the Oblasts that he claims and held his fraudulent vote in, for them to declare allegiance with Putin's putrid mother Russia. The real laugh is that actual Russians are not reproducing enough, to sustain Putin's mythical unicorn of a Tsarist empire. Putin is sickly, and the best thing he can do is to die soon.
