Washington — Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey announced Thursday that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and will undergo surgery in the coming months.
Casey, a Democrat, said in a statement that his diagnosis, which he received last month, "came as a shock," but said he has an "excellent prognosis, as well as the benefit of exceptional medical care and the unwavering support of my family."
He said he is expected to make a full recovery after having surgery.
"I am confident that my recommended course of treatment will allow me to continue my service in the 118th Congress with minimal disruption, and I look forward to the work ahead," Casey said in a statement.
The senior senator from Pennsylvania, Casey was elected in 2006 and is serving his third term. He is up for reelection 2024.

Wow, it takes cancer to here from Casey. I wish him well. He should seriously consider spending more time with family and resign from the Senate.
I wish him success in his treatment. However, I’m elated he (and other Congress Kritters) have access to “exceptional” health care, which their constituents could only dream of having.
I wish him well on the prostate cancer, but it would be nice if he would grow a brain.
There is a reason he does NOT do unscripted Town Hall meetings and even the scripted ones are only before selected audiences.
He is the dumb part of Dumb and Dumber among Pennsylvania's senators. And Democrats are OK with that since both are willing tools of the Deep State.
I wish him the best with his medical issues.
I remember when his dad was diagnosed with liver cancer and went right to the top of the donor list after many people were waiting years for a liver.
If he dies, he will continue serving proudly as Pennsyltucky’s senior cardboard cutout in the US Senate.

Between Casey and Fetterman PA has the distinction of having THE 2 most worthless Senators.

Fetterman isn’t even on that chart...beyond dumber. Filthydelphia really messes up that state in the same fashion as Chicago, NYC etc cornhole their states.
I had it 2012 all is well.
Maybe they will nick his brain as they opperate on his prostate since his head is in his ass.
