HIGH NOON, part III, The Election of The Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. LIVE!
C-Span ^ | January 5, 2023 | Dr. Franklin

So here we go again.

What we have seen so far is the arogance of our governing elites. They think every election can be managed and finessed to install the preferred candidate of the elites. Because 20 MAGA Republicans are objecting, Swamp Creature McCarthy has been denied the gavel of the Speakership.

Will they prevail, or is a dirty deal with the Dems in the works?

‘Show me a man that gets rich by being a politician, and I’ll show you a crook.’ Harry S Truman

Maybe, if we do not have a speaker for two years:

No debt limit increase
No money for the Ukes/Deep State
No money for any green new deals
No money for new and old illegals

So, why should we fret/worry/care if the members of the 118th Congress can’t be sworn in:

Then, no midnight spending deals and no secret deals with Biden’s Deep State Puppet Masters!

If Members of the 118th Congress can’t be sworn in, the House can’t set rules to govern itself, and it can’t Why should we care if: No spending and no deals with Biden!

The House is in limbo until it elects a speaker.

Members of the 118th Congress can’t be sworn in, the House can’t set rules to govern itself, and it can’t consider legislation or create committee assignments.

That sounds like good news to many of us.

House Republicans have pledged to unleash a slew of investigations, including some targeting President Biden — all of which would be on pause until a speaker is elected.

What to watch: House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy’s speakership bid failed a fourth and fifth time on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the California Republican said: “I don’t have a problem getting a record for the most votes for speaker.”

Flashback: It took two months — and 133 ballots — for the House to elect its speaker in 1856.

The last time the House has needed more than one ballot to confirm a speaker was 1923.

https://www.axios.com/2023/01/03/house-speaker-election-congress-mccarthy-1856

The longest House speaker election in history spanned two months and took 133 ballots — providing a warning sign for the 118th Congress.consider legislation or create committee assignments.

Again, that sounds like good news to many of us.

On Tuesday, McCarthy, the California Republican said: “I don’t have a problem getting a record for the most votes for speaker.”

As taxpayers, we win everyday without a speaker and congress!

What the RINOs are showing is that they are happy to waste the time that they were given in this term trying to ram McCarthy through as Speaker. The only way McCarthy gets in as Speaker is if the Dems don't vote.

There was a McCarthy supporter interviewed on TV just before the vote who said some were getting ready to nominate someone besides McCarthy, whether he likes it or not. Which they should.

The main problem everyone is facing is that no one else really wants it.

Apparently Gaetz just nominated Trump, perhaps based on Steve Bannon’s urging this morning, but I doubt he wants it either.

I never saw political panic in eyes, as Baier’s were 5 minutes ago.

Judy Woodruff, CNN Nov. 1994 melting down, crying "What's happening to our country?" as Republicans won the House & Senate.

Nothing will ever top that.

Gaetz already stepped out there with Trump seemingly as a warning shot. Meh... If he REALLY wanted to get their attention, he’d say, “The American people want change. Democrats are predictable. We know what they are going to do.
I don’t know what Kevin McCarty will do and neither do the American people. Therefore, I vote for Hakeem Jefferies.” Queue nuclear explosions and a real heated meeting shortly after the rolls are complete. Whew... that’d be something.

I haven’t watched fox news since November 4’th 2020 at 6 pm when I blocked their channel and shortly after cut the cable. Been watching OANN on live stream ever since on Klowd TV.

BTW, it’s free live OANN audio on iheart radio.

If the GOP had any balls, they would do it as revenge just for J6. Oh boy would it be glorious.

Well they don't, and it shows. Trump is the Republican Party leader. He is the natural choice to lead and break an impasse.

He’s offered concessions and they reject them. They making it personal and there’s no consensus candidate or serious alternative to McCarthy. Until there’s a Speaker the new members can’t even be sworn in. They had two months to haggle and plan. They need to stop being petulant and accept the concessions and move on. Some of their demands are foolish like one person, not five, objecting to the speaker. A vote on House term limits is meaningless. It’s bad policy which will only embolden K Street and the Deep State if passed as an amendment. The term limit already exists in the hands of the constituents at the ballot box every two years.

I agree with you that it wouldn’t be the worst thing to happen to have Hockin’ Jeffries as Speaker. We all know this country has already accelerated into a third world crap hole, with the ardent support of Rinos like McCarthy, in on the Deep State scam during Biden’s residency. Let the Demons take full credit for the collapse. Let’s be realistic, this country is already over the cliff and ain’t coming back.

That might explain why McCarthy wasn't able to nail this down starting November 9th 2022. He had almost two months to work this out, but it appears that he waited until this week to get serious about negotiating with the conservatives in his caucus?

Didn't the Republican caucus Majority Leader vote on November 15, 2022 when 31 Republicans voted for Andy Biggs be a clue that McCarthy had some work to do?

Sounds like Spartz is leading from behind again... she missed her roll call again and will probably vote “present” at the end after all the other votes are recorded. Cowardly.

That just proves McCarthy is a clueless idiot, and why he should never be SOTH.

McCarthy also doesn't have any dignity: he doesn't know when to quit and this is all about him and nothing to do with the country.

Pathetic he is.

So all the news last night that a deal had been made and McCarthy would be "trending" in the right direction today is proven to be complete BULLSH*T.

F McCarthy.

“Isn’t it interesting that Milquetoast McCarthy is demonstrating more backbone in trying to become SOTH than he ever did fighting back against Democrats?”

I agree completely. I do think that the grand jury in Fulton County would be told immediately to indict Trump if it ever happened.
