Some estimates say the losses on both sides are now over 200,000, and rising fast. Russia alone is estimated to have lost as many as 140,000 since February last year.

'Further, I wrote that we would find ourselves a pariah state, but, frankly, I did not think that we would not have a single ally that has serious influence on the political, economic or military-technical level.'
Ivashov blames Putin for triggering a new alignment between the US and China, and expects this to bear fruit with the pair holding the major sway in the world.
'Russia in such a picture of the world is not mentioned at all as a political player,' he said. 'So now they will create a bipolar world, but without our participation.'

The US has barely touched their current stock. Most o the weapons systems given to Ukraine are out of inventory.

If the death tolls are accurate for such a short period of time, then it makes the US wars in Vietnam and the sand box areas look like church picnics.
On the other hand, if we went all out to stop communist aggression in Korea or Vietnam and went up against China, the death tolls would likely equal what Russia is facing today.
And if we actually stood up to the Islamist’s in the sand box, and made a full blown religious war out of it, killing every damn one of them, the death tolls would be staggering too.

In 30+ years in Iraq and 20+ in Afghanistan, we lost 7 A-10's and 3 F-15E's.
Russia has lost at least 22 SU-25's and 19 SU-34's (their Russian equivalents) in less than one year. Not sustainable.

Russia has a nuclear option in case if the US is going to keep doubling down: toerge with China by opening full access to natural resources, and some technologies China still doesn’t have. Russia is already building a top-tier early warning system for China, China is pressing it into a transfer of silent submarine technology.
