Just curious, what would defeat Russia? Social unrest or a coup? That seems unlikely.

“’Further, I wrote that we would find ourselves a pariah state, but, frankly, I did not think that we would not have a single ally that has serious influence on the political, economic or military-technical level.’”

putin/russia have been losing since last February

how long will the russian people accept it?

Turns out it wasn’t FALSE, Polygraph got it wrong again…just like Politifact does 90% of the time:

Leonid Ivashov
a former top Russian defense ministry official:

“It indicates that they, the Americans in the first place, are preparing to start a war in Europe, and you can wage a war in Europe against Russia only.“

Ivashov blames Putin for triggering a new alignment between the US and China,

.....New Alignment with China......wait....what.....?

And I thought China was the mortal enemy of the USA

If the death tolls are accurate for such a short period of time, then it makes the US wars in Vietnam and the sand box areas look like church picnics.

On the other hand, if we went all out to stop communist aggression in Korea or Vietnam and went up against China, the death tolls would likely equal what Russia is facing today.

And if we actually stood up to the Islamist’s in the sand box, and made a full blown religious war out of it, killing every damn one of them, the death tolls would be staggering too.

I think the difference is we played defense and Russia is playing offense.

Well... There is one way out of this moronic mess and a chance for Russia to shed their label as the worlds pariah... Vlad’s edict making himself ‘President for Life’ makes that ‘way out’ very simple for the Russian people. Kill Putin.

Well this entire mess from all sides, is insane.

That said, even with our own insanity, I don’t think anyone here has ever seriously wanted to invade the ussr/russia. Its their fantasy pipe dream to keep themselves militarized and a 1984 Goldstein-style whipping boy.

Russia’s neighboring eastern and middle eastern countries and regional peoples have invaded, historically, contracting and expanding russia’s territory - not helped by the west. Another fanatic socialist also did pitting national socialism against soviet socialism, hardly a representative of typical western europe.

Russia outlawed criticism of the invasion and speaking badly of the military. An ordinary citizen of Russia saying this would get a midnight visit by the FSB.

Ivashov is in the protected class where he can say what he wants and get away with it. For him to speak out openly means a lot more throughout the Russian government are quietly thinking the same.

https://sonar21.com/public-display-of-the-gross-incompetence-of-u-s-and-nato-military-leaders/

At the outset of the Special Military Operation Ukraine had a larger army in the field than Russia. That is no longer the case. Russia destroyed Ukraine’s tank brigades and now Ukraine is begging desperately for replacements. Ukraine’s Army has been decimated by the Russian tactic of using artillery to attack and destroy fixed entrenchments. Even if NATO decided to mobilize and send its own troops to reinforce Ukraine, that would not be enough to “expel” Russian forces. Russia is fighting for its homeland.

###

Russia’s so-called “conscripts” are military reservists, plus an estimated 100,000 volunteers who signed up. Ukraine, by contrast, is kidnapping 16 year old boys and 60 year old men off the streets in places like Kiev and Odessa. I find it hard to believe that Milley really believes the crap he is spewing. If he does then the United States military is in grave danger with a moron like that in charge.

###

Russia enjoys advantages in personnel, tanks, artillery, ammunition, electronic warfare, combat aircraft, helicopters and hyper sonic missiles. There is zero evidence that Ukraine has more courage, resilience or tactical skill than the Russians. In fact, the real asymmetry is that Russia has more trained soldiers than Ukraine by a vast margin.

###

Ukraine, with the help of the West, is sleep walking into the slaughterhouse. Ukraine and NATO’s refusal to wake up and grasp the reality of what is happening is likely to lead to the destruction of both.

Anyone know if there is any truth to the report that Russia announced they are going back to a Planned Economy? They would have 5 year plans similar to structure of the USSR, calling it a Digital Planned Economy. It’s been stated they are at first only going to do it with Economic Sectors that support the war effort. Then if that is successful, expand it to the entire Economy.

I’ve seen speculation regarding this being considered. But now there are reports I cannot substantiate that it’s been announced. ???

IF true, back to the USSR....
