The U.S. economy added 253,000 jobs in April, surpassing analyst forecasts of 180,000 new jobs, according to Labor Department data released Friday.

The unemployment rate remained historically low at 3.4 percent, down from 3.5 percent the previous month.

The jobs report reveals that the economy is slowing, but the labor market remains surprisingly robust.

The unemployment rate for Black Americans dipped slightly to 4.7 percent, a record low. Thatโ€™s a huge recovery from the onset of the pandemic, when the Black unemployment rate spiked to 16.8 percent in May 2020.

Wage gains also came in slightly stronger than expected. Hourly earnings rose 0.5 percent in April and are up 4.4 percent over the last 12 months

Saw good bye to the fed rate cut!

The jobs are addition by subtraction. Lose one 80K job, gain 3 30K part time jobs.

Average work week now 34.4 hours verses 34.5 last report.

Report 253,000 now, but revise later. People won’t notice the later revision to a lower number.

โ€œThe Hill!โ€ Really?

Yeah. They totally faked the monthly BLS report.

That's why no one else is reporting on this.

Even if true..it doesn’t change the fact that people have to get a second or third job to stay afloat. Due entirely to biden’s puppet masters and tetard Biden.

Probably a bunch of government jobs for people who do little to nothing except collect a paycheck.

The place I worked goes through people left and right. They last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, then get fired or quit. So the one hired to take their place, I assume, is a job “created”

We will not see a rate cut until unemployment goes back up over 3.8% or more.
Anyone who can walk and chew gum can get a job paying $17/hour or more.
