A recent study found that high school seniors that identified as liberal were more prone to depression than their conservative counterparts.
Columbia University surveyed more than 85,000 18-year-old teenagers from 130 private schools from 2005 to 2018, considering them conservative or liberal based on self-reporting. While all teenagers reported higher depressive affect scores after 2010, liberal students reported higher depressive scores than their counterparts, which were calculated by self-reports regarding their moods, self-esteem, self-derogation, loneliness, depressive episodes, and suicidal ideations and behavior.
"These findings indicate a growing mental health disparity between adolescents who identify with certain political beliefs," the study read. "It is, therefore, possible that the ideological lenses through which adolescents view the political climate differentially affect their mental well-being."
Of all respondents, liberal women reported the highest depressive affect, with liberal women without a college-educated parent topping the charts. More women tended to identify as liberal than me, with 22% reporting a left-leaning political ideology. About the same amount, 21% of men identified as conservative.
Those behind the study cited similar surveys that found "common aspects of a conservative identity are equally as protective for adolescent mental health as for adult mental health." However, when it came to black women, the education of their parents was more correlated with a healthy mental state because "conservatism alone was not protective for mental health."
The National Institute on Drug Abuse funded the study.
Liberals seem to be angry about things. They can’t debate and discuss the issues of the day. They get angry like 2 year olds when they don’t get their way, they lose elections, don’t see the world react to their angst about global warming, transgender issues, race issues, etc.
So not surprising, that the liberals are prone to depression. They are depressed that the utopia they dream of doesn’t exist.

Reason number 3: they don’t value a relationship with Jesus Christ.
And many are more than likely atheists.......and every one of those I’ve been around is also angry. I suspect it’s because somewhere in the back of those closed off minds they have a sinking feeling of what awaits them.
I’m always amazed at this, considering how it is conservatives who are “oppressed” with brow-beatings of them and their philosophy daily on every media outlet and on tv shows and movies and now even by corporate industries.
Liberalism is a mental disorder.
When you don’t live a lie you have a better outlook on life.
Conservatives deal in reality. Teach your children coping skills
(1) They are full of hate. They truly believe that conservatives are evil and are the reason for everything wrong in the world.
(2) They are smug. They believe conservatives are idiot/hillbillies and love to denigrate Christians by referring to Jesus as "your imaginary friend."
(3) They are miserable. They never post happy family pics anymore preferring to instead post 'Orange Man Bad' memes. When it gets too much for me, I click on the button where I don't see any of their posts for 30 days. I do not defriend them because I am genuinely interested in whether or not they will ever wake up or if they will spend the rest of their lives being so utterly deluded.
(4) They have a high divorce rate, and the divorces came about mostly due to infidelity on their part. But they love to play the victim and gaslight about how short life is and how you must be 'true to yourself' and find the right partner in life.
(5) They are jealous of successful people and have latched on to terms like "the 1%" and are enthusiastic supporters of 'wealth redistribution' (i.e. theft from hard working people).
Conversely, for the many years I have been on FB, it is my observation that the Christian-based conservatives I went to high school with are the happiest today. For the most part, they have children that they put into private/Christian schools who have turned out to be high achievers.
Perpetual uncontrolled outrage often leads to depression- so yeah, stand to reason that liberals are uch more prone to depression than stable conservatives are

Following the meeting, their daughter ‘began to have her first suicidal thoughts’ and started leaving notes for her parents about transgenderism and stated she was ‘aromantic’ and ‘asexual’. In the fall of 2021, she started to question her gender identity.

Conservative mentality is to depend on yourself. Liberal mentality is to depend on others. Liberals are still children and want their ever present parent to take care of everything.
I have a niece who was an outgoing, beautiful, smart and funny high school senior who was conservative for the most part. She won a scholarship to Emery University and then while there got another one to Oxford in England. She came home two years later a progressive, bitter, dour, almost in a state of depression and full of anger. She had let herself go and looked like a homeless person.
My aunt died hating the college and university system for what they had done to her daughter. She said had I known I would never have let her go to such a place that destroyed her.
