Ron DeSantis on if He Would Support Donald Trump: ‘I Don’t Think It’s Going to Ultimately Matter’
Breitbart ^ | 06/22/2023 | HANNAH BLEAU

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Thursday said he does not believe it will “ultimately matter” when asked if he would personally support former President Donald Trump if he emerges as the Republican nominee in 2024, using the opportunity to criticize the GOP frontrunner.

A reporter asked DeSantis about Trump’s attacks against him, inquiring, “Regardless of his attacks, will you 100 percent pledge to support Trump as a GOP nominee?”

DeSantis, however, initially refused to overtly state if he would personally support Trump. Rather, he first criticized Trump’s line of attack, particularly on DeSantis’s handling of the coronavirus, only later adding that the process — people’s final decision — should be respected.

"Ron should have not run in 2024 but backed Trump from the start. "

I agree. Whoever advised him to run against Trump in the primary gave him extremely bad advice. He may have destroyed any political future he might have had by jumping the gun, and not graciously sitting this one out.

I’m backing Trump, but after listening to DeSantis’s speech, there really isn’t anything to get worked up about.

Look at the man and what he has done.

He didn't do it on his own. The Swamp needs a Great Swamp Hope to get rid of Trump, and they chose Ronald Herbert Walker DeSantis and gave him "victories" to prop him up.

"But the bullshit stacked ten stories deep on this site about him is the kind of demented BS"

Is it demented or fact that Ron DeSantis got his State Legislature to change the "Resign to Run" bill, so he could run for President, and not have to give up the office of Governor to do so? The only other self-serving individual who got that law changed was Charlie Crist, who thought he had a shot at being McCain's VP choice. The law was changed back by Rick Scott when he became Governor. Using your State Legislature to help your own political endeavors sucks, and with that move, DeSantis showed just what a self-serving POS he really is.

He lied to the people of Florida when he campaigned last year for his second term. You don't decide to run for President on the spur of the moment, and then announce it. It takes time to drum up support, and get the pieces to fall in place. In all likelihood, DeSantis already knew he was going to run for President before last year's election, and never shared it with the people he wanted to vote for him. He's a conniving creep who used the people of Florida to put him back in office so he would have a platform to run for President.

“ DeSantis is a disloyal, back-stabbing, morally bankrupt POS”
Sounds like accurate description of a lawyer.

I sent my Governor three “urgent” emails begging him not to run.

He ignored them.

So much for POTUS 47, Ron! 48, too!

DeSantos doesn’t matter now...

In fact this poser can forget about Trumps 75 million good friends if he ever decides to run for office outside Florida in ‘28.

"He didn't do it on his own."

Yes, he had a great deal of support from the Florida legislature as well as the people of the Sunshine State. Anything else is seeing a boogeyman.

Come to think of it, Trump didn't accomplish his good deeds by himself either. But I'm sure that to you that's 'different' somehow. It's not.

Okay - but he can answer simple questions which he is not doing.

And he’s been great in Florida at fighting woke.inc, but on substantive management issues, like roads, our insurance failures and other work-a-day-how-to-manage stuff I have NOT been impressed.

Plus he is a literal political whore, scrounging around for donors - which is never good.

All he had to do was wait - and all those donors, plus Trump, plus everyone reading here - would have been beating his door in.

HUGE tactical blunder IMO. I still like him, a lot, but I’m disappointed.

No because Trump doesn’t need his support.

Have you ever even met the man? Because I have. And your impression is totally out of left field.

He didn't lie. Well, to your distorted POV maybe he did. But then again, people with your mindset would see some dark evil purpose in DeSantis if he cured cancer.

You need to come down to Earth.

Trump had the entire federal government establishment sabotaging him at every turn.

Only a weasel would deny that.

Yah, I wish Ron had waited until 2028. He's young and has plenty of time.

I just don't see DeSantis 'scrounging for donors'. This is what every politician does during election seasons. Every candidate you can name has rubbed shoulders with people who aren't in our favorite crowd, Donald Trump included.

Like I've said before -- The Don wants to be POTUS again in 2024 -- I'll be happy to vote for him, warts and all, like I did in 2016 and 2020. Or Desantis, if it comes to that.

I have serious doubts, though, as to whether or not all this is even worth a tinker's damn... I can hear the DNC vote-fraud machines already spinning up all across the land...

I find that a creepy and chilling response. Who owns you, DeSantis?

Who's denying it? I would not say "entire" though. It was pretty miraculous how much Trump was able to accomplish, all things considered.

Oh, and kindly shove the name-calling.

"Have you ever even met the man?"

That's quite a stupid question. What has meeting someone got to do with whether they are nice, and can be trusted? Ted Bundy was a well liked young man too, before everyone discovered he was a serial killer.

How do you know he didn't lie? When was the exact date he decided he was going to run for President? Do you actually think it was in May of this year? He's only into the first six months of his second term, and the day he announced his candidacy, the law that would have forced him to resign as Governor was changed and passed by the Legislature. He didn't get that done overnight either. It was in the works for a while. Do you think he just instantaneously woke up one day in May and decided he was going to run? You're deluding yourself, and appear to be pretty gullible as to how politics works. You don't run for President without planning, financial support, and backing. All those things have to be in place before you throw your hat into the ring. It doesn't happen overnight. But go ahead, keep thinking St. Ronnie is a man of real character.

Really? Every person I know who voted for and supported Trump would vote for Desantis in 24 or 28 over the democrat or other nominee

but they aren’t raving lunatics so there is that.
