New Jersey drivers will now stand alone as they sit in their cars while gas is pumped for them.
That's because for the first time in 72 years, Oregon motorists will be able to grab a fuel nozzle and pump gas into their cars on their own, after a decades-old ban on self-serve gas stations was revoked. Gov. Tina Kotek signed a bill on Friday allowing people across the West Coast state to choose between having an attendant pump gas or doing it themselves. The law took effect immediately.
So now the Garden State is the only state that prohibits motorists from pumping their own gas. A few countries also ban it, including South Africa, where attendants offer to check fluid levels and clean the windshield, with tipping expected. New Jersey’s 1949 ban on self-service pumps remains a source of pride for some in a state where bumper stickers declare “Jersey Girls Don’t Pump Gas.” And since the state generally has lower gas prices than New York and Pennsylvania, many drivers from neighboring states cross the state line to fuel up.

Used to be that Connecticut was a reliable conservative state until the Democrat run hellhole cities like New Haven and Bridgeport built up such teeming populations of poor people reliant on government assistance, that they swamped the rest of the state.
Unless things change, it will only be a matter of time before the big cities in Texas turn that state blue as well. Especially as millions of Mexicans continue to pour over the border.
Because NJ doesn’t let you pump your own gas, it’s cheaper there than in Pa. and NY. Insurance cost. Peopke cross state lines to buy cheaper gas in NJ.
how much cheaper is the gas? It seems to me, unless you live right by the state line, you are going to use gas to get to New Jersey to get gas. And that’s assuming the New Jersey gas station is right on the state line as well.
That’s the spirit! I’m far too important to pump my own gas.
Keep in mind the largest Trump rally was held here in NJ and he has a home in Bedminster.
We’re not all liberals here.
True that.
One of the largest battles of the revolution was fought here, The battle of Monmouth Courthouse which saw the debut of the newly formed American Continental Army. Admiral William F. "Bull'' Halsey was born in Elizabeth, NJ.
Pretty good over all Kearny. Hows by you? How about these Jersey bashers huh? They need to do dome research on the old garden State.
Btw, you want to see gorgeous babes? Stroll the beaches here on any given summer day. More knock out women than you can shake a stick at.
Stroll a Jersey beach in the summer pal. At least they’re not under a ton of fur and seal skins like up in the frozen north of Alaska.
“It was good teamwork.”
So what you are saying is Google Maps is destroying marriages?
Could be true. My wife’s app and me going the way that I know does cause tension! “Well if you turn here it will save us one minute!”
I recall some comedian (Carlin?) talking about how maps give you the directions, but they don’t give you directions on how to refold it!
25-30 cents cheaper per gallon. Yeah I live by the state line.
“I have never been near NJ and hopefully I will never have to go there.”
I’ve been to Jersey a couple of times. The first time was driving from PA to NY and made the mistake of stopping for gas in Camden.
I think they just resemble the bathrooms in the home countries of the workers; often they just say they’re broken (so you never see it).
It’s just like the South Park episode; everyone wishes they were “Jersey” (in our minds). LOL!
Glad all is well.
Bricktown is not a major city as the whole township has less than 73,651 people.
It maybe safe, but most citizens cannot carry a pistol to defend themselves, in the event it becomes unsafe.
My screen name is USSAlaska, but I live in PA where I carry everywhere, to Mass on Sunday, to the markets and just walking down my block.
The township that I live in is slightly larger than Brick, and it may or may not be "safer" but I am self protected.
Citizens of NJ are sheep that depend on the Shepard to defend them, good luck with that.
NJ, NY and MD are three states that I try to avoid because of the communist rulers and the gun laws.
You should avoid making blanket statements. It makes you look ignorant. People are allowed to carry here with permits as business owners. My son-in-law does.
You should read what I wrote.
I stated that MOST PEOPLE CANNOT CARRY, and you then point out that if you own a business you may be allowed to get a carry permit.
If that statement makes me look ignorant, you don't even qualify for the imbecile category.
NJ is listed as a "May Issue" state, which means that only special people can get a permit to carry, don't try to argue with real facts.
The average NJ resident has almost zero chance of getting a carry permit, but since most joisey residents are idiots {if you are an example}, maybe it's for your own good.
