“can someone make the arguement for how trump will win the general?”

Because he’ll get massive numbers of votes, and the Dems are going to have a harder time cheating this time around.

Learn to spell, or at least use a spell-checker.

I have to wonder what will happen if and when Donald Trump is arrested and sent to jail. Not sure if that could happen before the 2024 election or not. But it is clearly the plan of the Democrats to punish Trump for questioning their legitimacy.

Since at least 40% of the U.S. population (and probably a majority in a significant portion of the country) agree with Trump, a jail sentence would be a red line and all the previous opportunities for civil unrest that have been narrowly avoided (by and large) might not prevent this outcome from being much different.

It could lead to partition rather than any violent reaction, people are going to see that half a loaf is better than allowing rats to eat the entire loaf. But I can’t really visualize the details because there needs to be a second national figure with gravitas to take over the MAGA movement and fight for Trump’s release. I don’t see who that person is, Ron de Santis had the chance to say, “I am a Donald Trump loyalist no matter what” but he ducked that and instead chose a strategy that looks like a slide to oblivion and irrelevance.

Perhaps Ted Cruz is the person, can anyone see a better choice? Cruz has had both opportunity and perhaps motive to distance himself from Donald Trump but I don’t think he has done so. At the same time, he is not very vocal in support. That may be wise for a time, keeping powder dry. At some point the situation may call for more drastic action.

At the moment Tucker Carlson might be the second most important person in the freedom movement, but he’s not an elected politician and has made no statements about becoming one (of which I am aware, at least).
