Retired four-star Army General Barry McCaffrey said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “All In” that MAGA loyalists were acting similar to “the 1930s in Nazi Germany.”
Monday on Truth Social, former President Donald Trump said the outgoing chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley had committed “an act so egregious that, in times gone by, the punishment would have been DEATH!”
McCaffrey said, “This is worth being extremely concerned about. During the follow on to Trump’s lost election, he actually made moves, which I had said at the time, to run a coup against the government of the United States. It was no question, in my mind.”

Indeed. Our military has far too many worthless dumbasses in command.
Consider the fact that during WW2, the largest and most destructive war in human history, the US Army (which included the Air Force at that time) had a total of 4 (FOUR) 4-Star generals. Yet here we are today with a much smaller Army and Air Force that is a fraction of its size during WW2 but there are now almost 50 active and commissioned 4-Star generals.
Anybody else see a problem here?

How did we get to a point where a man in such a (formerly) respected position of General in the US Military is willing to trade a lifetime of building that respect to make a cheap political point on a disreputable TV show no one watches?
Unfortunately, the answer seems to be that he and others on the left are so brain washed as to believe anyone not sharing their opinion is not worthy of having an opinion.
This demonstrates the fact -- not opinion -- that McCaffrey is toeing the Biden line, that MAGA is somehow domestic terrorism. As such, the TRUE fascists are shown as they paint opposition as Nazis.
National Socialism was national, socialist of an Aryan sort, and officially anti-capitalist. Therefore McCaffrey is wildly uninformed, or a partisan liar. I suspect the latter.

He’s not wrong. Milley bucked the chain of command, and instead of answering to his Commander-In-Chief, he took it upon himself to answer to a civilian politician who is completely outside the chain of command, and who was in the opposition party to the currently elected President. That actually fits the definition of a “coup” in a very literal sense, unlike anything that Trump ever did.
Wasn’t he the one who failed to slam the door on the retreating Iraqis?
I think I saw this action in season 3 of Jack Ryan, the reverse of the Russian Politburo running a coup against the President. With Trump as the Politburo. What would we have done without the fearful leaders in the Pentagon in charge? We wouldn’t have had dead soldiers in Afghanistan, with $Billions$ in equipment left behind, or Baghram base now the property of ???????.

Not sure where you get your facts, but we had four 5-star officers in WWII and about 13 or so four stars in the Army alone, which also included the Army Air Corps. We just passed that 4-star mark with five 4-stars in designated Army billets (FORSCOM, TRADOC, Army Futures, Army Materiel Command, and Army Pacific), plus ten Army four stars in Joint billets, like silly Milley.
