Pfizer is sued by Texas over COVID vaccine claims

(Reuters) - Pfizer has been sued by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who on Thursday accused the drugmaker of misrepresenting the efficacy of its widely-used COVID-19 vaccine.

In a complaint filed in a Lubbock County state court, Paxton said it was misleading for Pfizer to claim its vaccine was 95% effective because it offered a "relative risk reduction" for people to who took it

Paxton said the claim was based on only two months of clinical trial data, and vaccine recipients' "absolute risk reduction" showed that the vaccine was just 0.85% effective.

He also said the pandemic got worse even after people started taking the vaccine, developed by Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech.

"Pfizer intentionally misrepresented the efficacy of its COVID-19 vaccine and censored persons who threatened to disseminate the truth in order to facilitate fast adoption of the product and expand its commercial opportunity," the complaint said.

You trust the medical industry so much it is astonishing. When the Nazis rose to power, some of their biggest backers were in the medical profession. Without much prompting, doctors went on a murder spree and killed hundreds of thousands of children they were considered life and worthy of life due to their disabilities. Shame on you. you’re disgusting

Where would our society be without “Big Pharma”
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
So their accomplishments shield them from any scrutiny in the future?
You failed to mention all the mistakes and fraud they have been sued for. We can start with oxycontin and work back

Just like Unions, they had their time (30s-60s)
Now Pharma is not about a cure, it’s about lifetime prescriptions and treatments.

So - Pfizer was charged, found guilty and paid the largest criminal fine in history for fraud regarding their product just a few years ago. Not sure when some FReepers lost the ability to critically think, but lack of trust in Big Pharma is not irrational.

Paxton will win in Lubbock County. Demographics are right and lots of hard core conservative, stable, no bs people out there. It’s the EXACT OPPOSITE of Wash. D.C.

Bingo.

I became a Biomedical-Pharmaceutical complex drop out when a doc I had seen for a respiratory infection (aka, very bad cold) urged me to go for blood work "so that I can get you started on maintenance prescriptions"

No thank you...not becoming a slave to semi annual "blood work" and neurosis about numbers.

“Where would our society be without “Big Pharma”?”

How about a lot better off? Many BP and other meds have safe natural alternatives that do not have dangerous side effects. But never mind those-first tell us about all the good things Oxycontin has done for people...

You go ahead and take all the drugs and vaxxes you want if you believe they are safe-I’m saying no thanks...

good job Paxton. you bothered the uniparty enough to attack you. then you fought tooth and nail, and survived their smear and, most important, you didn’t sit back, you went on offense.

should be the model for all republican office holders.

Well you should understand the following:

Medical device/ pharmaceutical companies must test their products to present data to the FDA (for those that don’t know the FDA does not perform the tests).

You and your technicians find say, sterility failures. You want to go with a new packaging configuration.

Management doesn’t want to hear that.

You say “no, no, no, we’ve failed x number out of 1,000, it doesn’t meet inspection criteria”

Management says “Huh huh huh, you’re holding up product development” “you did the test wrong”.

You say “but we did it to the ASTM standard!”

Management says “take those results out, they were done wrongly.”

Then the packaging engineer (look at my username) says “Ok, then you sign the paperwork, I’m not.”

Management signs the paperwork.

Voila! Product met acceptance criteria!!

“Pfizer and the other Pharma scum are the main target now but eventually the bureaucrat criminals in governments around the world need to be put on trial and, if found guilty, executed.”

Absolutely. I vote for stoning to death by the vax-injured and their surviving relatives.

Looks like someone is grandstanding. Is Paxton running for office? Does he think to appeal to all of those who have been snookered by professional antivaxxers?

Those who believe antivax propaganda are not a majority of Republicans. It is, IMO, a big mistake to cater to them during campaigns because Republicans who understand that the best source for medical information is scientists won’t vote for kooks promoting antivax rhetoric.

What antivax propaganda?

The only propaganda around here is your BigPharma paid drivel that you bot post, repeatedly.

Go back to your bull pen supervisor and tell them how pathetic their AI/chat bot material is.

And, not to mess with Texas.
