Former President Donald Trump is ineligible under the 14th Amendment to run for president in 2024, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday -- a historic decision that sets up a battle before the nation's highest court.

I’m with you, Laz. I don’t care if I have to crawl over broken glass to write President Trump in on the ballot, he’s getting my vote (even though it probably won’t count in my Commie California)

Look at the stay until January of 2024. That means the court decision of Trump being illegitimate would then take effect. It isn’t hard to see that votes for an illegitimate candidate would then be thrown out.

There is a reason the Court chose a date just prior to Congressional acceptance of Electoral votes.

The Colorado decision doesn’t just ban a candidate from the ballot... it actively negates votes cast.

Come January 2024, the public will likely find their votes do not count.

And the Colorado Court knows that...

Actually, January 2024 is 11 months before the election...

Democrats will rue the day the pursued this course of action and cheer it.

Not sure what you mean here. Rue and cheer are generally opposite emotions.

This should be an easy 9-0 decision to overturn by SCOTUS, but it sets a dangerous precedent. The leftist mob forgets that the pendulum can swing both ways.

If this allowed to stand, what is keeping the supreme courts of Texas or Florida from ruling Biden ineligible to be on the ballot due to his dereliction of duty at the border by ignoring federal immigration law?

These radical leftists need to be careful what they wish for.

This “decision” is nothing more than lawfare designed to poison the blood of America. There are low IQ voters who will think this means Trump is an insurrectionist.

The Colorado Supreme Court 4-3 Decision Is Pure Nonsense and Can Be Laughed At, They Even Admit It on Page 9

It was a 4-3 decision. Meaning it was the politics of the court, literally the political makeup and perspective therein, that determined the outcome of the decision. This is showcased in point #3, which is the funniest part.

#2) The entire framework of the case against Trump in the Colorado decision is predicated on this: “[the complainants] asserted that he was ineligible under Section Three because he engaged in insurrection on January 6, 2021, after swearing an oath as President to support the U.S. Constitution.” [pdf, page 6] REMINDER – President Donald Trump was not charged with “insurrection,” is not accused of “insurrection,” does not fit the complaint under the definitions of “insurrection,” and has never been found guilty of insurrection. The complaint is moot before the court. But hey, it’s Lawfare… and we all know Lawfare is created for public media consumption, so that takes us directly to the biggest point.

#3) Instead of me writing it, let me screengrab it so we can all laugh together [pdf page 9].

Wait, what?

Yes, that’s correct. As long as President Trump appeals the decision to the Supreme Court, the appeals court stays their own ruling – essentially indefinitely. The Colorado primary ballots printed, and the primary election will be over, before the Supreme Court puts this on their docket.

In addition to the virtual guarantee the high court will overrule this political nonsense, SCOTUS can make the entire issue moot before them by following their own normal schedule for submissions, arguments, deliberation and opinions delivered by the court.

The Colorado appellate court knows this, that’s why they put this self-stay into their 4-3 ruling. It’s a politically correct way of giving the optics of telling their tribe, ‘hey we’re with you,’ without the ramifications of the political backlash. In other words, psychological lawfare stuff – intended for media consumption

I agree, but the larger point is that if someone posts anonymously, as we do, these types of claims are both unprovable.

They will remain just claims.

I think it’s best to believe the best of a FReeper.

… and move on.

Simple as that.

"Article I gives Congress the power to make rules for the election of Representatives (and Senators since 1916), but no part of the Federal government (including the Supreme Court, all you Bush v. Gore fans) has ANY legitimate role in the appointment of the President by the Electoral College."

Bush v Gore was a legitimate SCOTUS decision reeling in a rogue state supreme court -- as SCOTUS has done in the past -- and not unironically will do so again in Colorado, or do you support this Colorado decision?

"Exactly like they did during the "summer of love" in order to drive negative headlines across the nation."

Finally someone comes close to the hubris driving this decision.

Liberal courts are driven by their leftist clerks.

Liberals do not care one whit about jurisprudence or originalism or Constitutions -- in fact those very things drive their hatred, their animus.

Liberal courts only care about the outcome because that is all that matters to them. Period. Paragraph.

That Colorado decision was pre-ordained the moment the lower court issued 298 grafs of puerile rage from LGBTQlerks and a demented but determined libtard biotch who used a ballot-eligibility trial to attempt to kangaroo President Trump for "insurrection", which featured guest witness appearances (no, I'm not kidding) from people like Eric Swalwell.

No, this decision is because Obama's Army believes somehow that SCOTUS -- and particularly Judge Alito -- smacking down this and perhaps other courts in creating an omnibus ruling that removes much of this illegal lawfare against President Trump, somehow provides a winning #Narrative for The White Hospice. These are the meager gaslighting tropes escaping from the Choom Room.

Instead of TrumpII being about stopping the invasion, instead of breaking the chains on American energy independence, instead of actually leaving the chains of Earth and heading for Mars, now in return for the wrongs committed upon him, he has to include retribution.

As I understand it, if Republicans take both the House and Senate, then they could block the slate of electors from Colorado, or any other state that excludes Trump from the ballot. If that prevents both candidates from reaching 270 votes, then the majority party in the House would select the President.

Not including certain electors would lower the threshold of majority. The only way to cast the election to the House is if no one reaches majority to an outright tie, or a third party takes enough electors for no one to reach majority.

“Trump will be on the Colorado ballot, no matter what - simply because America is not a communist nation. America is a Constitutional Republic.”

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Are you sure about the last two clauses in your statement?
I’m not.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I know what you mean...
Let’s put it this way: America is gangrened by loud and noisy anarchists (cultural marxists, ultra violent BLM entities, LGBT hysteria, hypocritical political correctness, hippies, reckless pacifists, pro Iran/Russia/Hamas people, anti-border extremists, and lastly... a weak politicized media).

However! The SILENT MAJORITY represents a clear majority in America. That “silent majority” is on the right side and is actually picking up steam... it will soon become even stronger...

There are reasons to remain optimistic.

It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it. You and I are not in the big club! ~ George Carlin
(Warning! Typical George Carlin language!) May 4, 2014

“But there’s a reason. There’s a reason. There’s a reason for this, there’s a reason education sucks, and it’s the same reason that it will never, ever, ever be fixed. It’s never gonna get any better. Don’t look for it. Be happy with what you got.

Because the owners of this country don’t want that. I’m talking about the real owners now, the real owners, the big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions.

Forget the politicians. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don’t.

You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought and paid for the senate, the congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear. They got you by the balls.

They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying, lobbying, to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else, but I’ll tell you what they don’t want:

They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them.

That’s against their interests. That’s right. They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table to figure out how badly they’re getting ***ked by a system that threw them overboard 30 ***king years ago.

They don’t want that. You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers. People who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money.

They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street, and you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all from you, sooner or later, ‘cause they own this ***king place.

David DePape might get deported back to Canada, and then, we will never see him nor hear from or about him again.

So can war evolve to a more humane form, where precision weapons are used to kill the political, military, business and technical elite of the adversary, instead of forming masses of conscripts using artillery and bombing to kill each other, civilians and destroy military and civilian infrastructure?

The killing of Zawahiri, Soleimani, grain tycoon Vadatursky, numerous Russian generals, Iranian nuclear scientists and missile engineers, and a variety of ISIS figures certainly points in that direction.

In a properly run war, Zelensky would be trying to kill Putin and his henchmen, and vice versa, without a lot of collateral killing and destruction.

Similarly, China and Taiwan would attempt to decapitate each other, rather than crudely mount invasions.

This would get us back to more honorable warfare, as practiced among nobles and their knights, prior to massed infantry tactics of the Thirty Years War and later. https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4082697/posts?page=16#16 16 posted on 8/2/2022, 11:04:04 AM by FarCenter

Texas Lt. Gov @DanPatrick

“Maybe we should take Joe Biden off the ballot in Texas for allowing 8 million people to cross the border since he’s been President.”
