House Speaker Mike Johnson was profiled in a German news segment attending a 'purity ball' with his teenage daughter, in a bizarre prom-like ritual where she was made to take a vow of abstinence.
Johnson, 51, and his then-13-year-old daughter, Hannah, were seen in unearthed n-tv news footage from 2015 preparing for the controversial dance, as a reporter remarks that it 'looks like a wedding.'
'But they are not bride and groom - rather father and... daughter,' the reporter adds, with Johnson seen in a black tuxedo and his young daughter in a white dress. The segment was first reported by ABC News.
The lawmaker's attendance at the religious event comes after he raised eyebrows following his surprise appointment as Speaker in October, as he has been forced to defend statements including calling same-sex marriage 'the dark harbinger of chaos and sexual anarchy.'

The issue isn’t being smart about sexual activity and not even waiting until marriage.
Its the weird public virtue signaling ceremony.
Perhaps they thought the ceremony would catch on, and many fathers would step up and organize similar gatherings, and it may even result in a movement to do things the way God intended to begin with! Maybe it’s not virtue signaling at all.
It’s one of the most virtue signaling thing I’ve ever heard of.
If you read the article, we didn’t do this back in the day. This became popular with certain Christian denominations in the past few decades.
Perhaps it became popular out of a need.
Necessity is the mother of invention. I’m thinking that parents and church groups probably wanted to do something that would help young people get back to God’s ways.
This sort of virtue signaling ceremony isn’t the right way to do it.
Oh the horror! The utter horror that Mike's daughter won't likely grow up to be a c*m catching, STD plagued hoebag with four kids by twelve different guys, stuck on the dole forever. The horror!
A prom like dance at 13 stops that how?
I didn’t say it would. But I think folks who attend such events don’t do just that and nothing else to try to keep their kids on the straight and narrow. At least it’s some kind of pushback against the destructive, leftist filth being poured over young people in America from every angle.
Some of the worst things in the world find their roots in promiscuity. Poverty, broken relationships, broken homes, weak and/or non-existent marriages, fatherless homes, etc. which all also commonly lead to numerous other societal problems.
How do you know? Maybe it’s not what you would do, but how do you know what effect it has had? For all you know, there may be many of those young ladies who quietly honored that pledge. What’s wrong with that? You really have no right whatsoever to say it isn’t right. You only have the right to not partake if you don’t agree.
AND????? SO????
Ut oh, they got him now. No way they will let this go. Smh
I feel bad for his daughter. Being used in a hit piece like this. Is that all they got?
I’ll agree with you to this extent: These types of events are no replacement for not only knowing what to believe and told to believe - but teaching them making sure they know *why* to believe it. “checklist morals” are not an effective means of teaching morals.
To repeat what was said above: Some of the worst things in the world find their roots in promiscuity. Poverty, broken relationships, broken homes, weak and/or non-existent marriages, fatherless homes, etc. which all also commonly lead to numerous other societal problems.
And accepting some perversions which what has lead to the acceptance of others - if promiscuity was not first accepted, neither are other things we are now seeing as increasingly acceptable - such as taking toddlers and elementary age kids to strip shows and having them put money down the underwear of the strippers while the parents look on in amusement even filming and sharing it on their social media. We didn’t get there without going to the other places first.
No right to say it isn’t right? That’s the majority of the posts on FR. 😁
Look, we know that you hate the idea of men who are active fathers because then their daughters don't tend to drop their drawers for porn star sex and end up getting abortions. And dead babies are just the coolest but you are just going to have to live with the fact that some fathers are going to be involved dads.
Accept it and move on with your pathetic life eating crumbs that fall from your DemonRAT master's table.
I can’t imagine anything more offensive to a pedophile than the thought of 13 year old girls pledging chastity until marriage. That explains the outrage of these lunatics to these father daughter dances.
BTW where is the Leftist outrage towards Palestinian/Muslim Fathers who have their daughter’s genitalia mutilated so that they CAN’T experience sexual pleasure? Why no stories about THAT?
So, no pedophile evangelicals?
“A prom like dance at 13 stops that how?”
I’m guessing you don’t have any daughters. The dances let the daughters of these men know what is expected of them rather than the media messages normalizing promiscuity. I don’t know how effective this is but even if it is 10%, isn’t that a good thing?
