Oh, please: everybody is bullied in high school (except maybe the bullies themselves). Normal young men and women toughen up and resist and end up better adults (I joined the Marines after high school and then went looking for my bullies after Boot Camp). Part of growing up.

No one escapes entirely unscathed, but there are tremendously different degrees of viciousness and ratios of victims to victimizers. Twenty ganging up hard on one, with the authorities turning a blind eye isn't something "everybody" faces.

Your analogy would be better if the Israelis and Hamasses were kiddos and the Israelis were taunting the Hamasses endlessly, and both were equal states under an authority that let the situation fester.
This is a video where a tranny is calling for transphobes to be stabbed and a veteran is responding to that threat. The timing is interesting given the tranny calling for violence and this nut job performing it. Wonder if a connection can be made. But the tranny is certainly moving beyond the coverage of freedom of speech into incitement territory.

A pump shotgun and a .22 pistol? This is Iowa, in an area strictly rural not many years ago. Those kinds of weapons are in most homes, even garages, that predate the recent suburbia build.
So, where were his parents? You mention the school’s responsibilities- what did the school do? I had read anywhere that he was ganged up on by twenty bullies - so why weren’t the police involved?
From what I’ve seen so far, the psycho didn’t shoot bullies - he shot the principal and bystanders.

No one said he was physically ganged up on, so police involvement hasn’t been discussed so far as I know. His parents are married and both have good reputations in the town, with stable employment.
No one is actually defending what he did, but I do think schools and parents should try like heck to discipline youngsters who bully. No one has to like them or approve of them or sympathize, but, until they do something, leave them alone and maybe they’ll stay calm. Then everyone wins.

There were also NEVER mass murders in numbers before they started doping our kids up on psychotropic medications, teachers in schools used to be able to deal with kids that were hyperactive NOW the damn schools DEMAND the parents dope them up!!

There are many factors which have changed in the last 50 years, nearly all of them pushed by the progressive media and the marxists types while taking over the institutions.
Let me list a few:
Pushing abortion (cheapening life), part of the attack on Western (Christian) morals.
Pushing promiscuity.
Pushing homosexuality as normal.
Removing/degrading Christian/Judeo ethics in general.
Pushing the idea of entitlement vs earning and personal responsibility.
The rise of social media and the Internet.
Actively splintering the social construct with identity politics.
Glorifying crime in the Media.
There are many others.
Again, you’re implicitly justifying this bent kid’s shooting innocent and unarmed - and uninvolved people - on “bullying”.
The blame belongs with the nutcase kid and despite your description of his parents as “having a good reputation in the town”, his idiot parents. There is no way in creation they would not have known how weird their kid was, that he needed treatment, and that he was dangerous (not to mention his possession of firearms and ammunition at age 17).
Quit making excuses for yet another mental case shooting up a school.
True! And that began at the time Bobby Kennedy was murdered and the powers that be decided it was because boys were too masculine so had to be drugged to make them more “feminine”. About the same time the mental institutions started being closed.
