With the execs separated from the shop floor, the engineering culture of Boeing became a bean-counting culture.

Honda has always required its CEO to be an engineer who rose through the ranks. Maybe Boeing should consider doing the same?

Muilenberg had an exemplary engineering career, he worked his way up via various failed programs to where he could launch the 737 Max
