On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “America Reports,” Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh responded to a question on why the U.S. hasn’t taken the Houthis out of commission by stating that “it’s really up to the Houthis when they make the calculation to stop” attacking.
Co-host John Roberts asked, “The U.S. military’s got the capability of putting the Houthis out of business this afternoon, why don’t we just do it?”

Can you imagine if we said this in world war II? 🙄
How come there’s a deputy press secretary of the Pentagon named Sabrina Singh . . . ?

I guess their thinking is that the houthis will eventually run out of bullets.
Hell of a way to run a war.

The last name would suggest that she’s Sikh. Definitely antagonistic to muslims and arabs.

Well since Russia could take Ukraine in one week obviously we
can defeat the Houthis in one afternoon.

I taught quite a few Sihks in honor hi in Woodside Queens. There were a few Singhs. One thing in common, the moms I met on parents’ night were uniformly gorgeous.

Yemen has been getting bombed for a decade.
The Middle East is a toilet. Keyboard Commandos and the 69th Couch Brigade on FR want war. Old people talking smack, and they think our military is the same as in 1985.

The Houthis will continue to fire their less-than-$1000 rockets so long as Iran supplies them. They are Moslems and they are fatalistic to an extreme. They believe that if ALlah wills that it is their time to die they will die whatever they are doing. If Allah wills that they not die then they will not die. Being killed by return fire does not concern them at all and they are adding to the Ukrainian drain of the USA’s stock of armaments. If Obiden were serious about ending the problem the Navy would obliterate an Iranian naval base all of a sudden then order Iran to call off Hezbollah and Hamas which Iran would then do.

"Pwetty pwetty pwease stop shooting da missiles at our ships!"
Yeesh. Such a tepid response just tells them they've got the leverage they're angling for. Either ignore them / call on other countries to get off their asses (funny how the normal talk about piracy and attacks on shipping being everyone's problem has dried up...) and chip in, or step up to the task and destroy them.
I'm sick of all this 'degrading capabilities' crap. Capabilities can be restored, and the Houthis have a patron that continually does so: Iran. Annihilate the bastards, and break the will of those left alive to fight. Kill them wholesale, and shrug off the collateral damage- it's on them for starting sh*t in the first place. It'll be a lot cheaper in the long run if anyone who wants to screw with a ship is worried that they and everyone in their village will fit into the same grave when we're done with them.
And reminder: we're paying for this clusterf*ck secondhand: we (via Obama) gave Iran pallets of cash, which they used to buy missiles costing hundreds of thousands or a few million dollars, which they in turn gave to the Houthis to use against civilian ships costing tens to hundreds of millions of dollars not including cargo, disrupting international trade and jacking up prices for everyone, and giving Iran/the Houthis global leverage.
I'm so glad my tax dollars might have ended up funding a missile that might take American servicemans' lives.

These clueless old Boomers are the worst, seemingly oblivious to the real nature of the country (and the world) in which they now live. And I say this as a Boomer myself. I just have no desire to live in the past.

Illegal immigration is so much more important than anything else.
There won’t be an America to fight anymore.
Shut the border, toss out every single illegal, and return to rule of law.
If we don’t, we become North Brazil.

Also (barely) a Boomer here.
I wish we could live in the past, but pretending that we do just gets people killed.

I certainly don’t prefer the present, everything sucks worse.
If I could press a button, I’d be riding my Big Wheel, sipping Caprisun, and watching GI Joe & Star Blazers…

I’d give anything to be able to go back and live in pre-1986 Vancouver.
I had to move away for work, and I would come back to visit once or twice a year, and it was always noticeably worse.
