House Speaker Mike Johnson will introduce a bill to send $17.6 billion to Israel in emergency aid without corresponding spending cuts amid a fight over border security.
The first standalone Israel aid package voted on included IRS cuts, which of course received heavy backlash by Democrats and was rejected by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
The new Israel funding bill will exclude the IRS cuts.
"While the Senate appears poised to finally release text of their supplemental package after months of behind closed doors negotiations, their leadership is aware that by failing to include the House in their negotiations, they have eliminated the ability for swift consideration of any legislation,” speaker Johnson wrote in a letter to colleagues.
"Given the Senate’s failure to move appropriate legislation in a timely fashion, and the perilous circumstances currently facing Israel, the House will continue to lead. Next week, we will take up and pass a clean, standalone Israel supplemental package.”

While I’m once again underwhelmed at the tactical acumen of our GOP leadership there might be a silver lining to this.
This isn’t Ukraine funding and I don’t believe it contains any other funding (feel free to correct me) - so this means the Dems have to put up or shut up about Israel now and this may divide their party.
Or not.
Frankly I just see this as yet another failure all around.
Russian Vodka, best vodka, many Russian drink vodka in 50s/60s/70s. No reason to work, or live, we die young.
Once Ruskie MEN realize that the Riskies pretend to pay for work, Ruskie Men pretend to work.
How may remember back in the 60's when Russian politicians visit U.E. - First place they go to is GROCERY STORE - they no believe any country can have so much
That’s a consideration.
👍👍
A clean border bill should be first.
Is that you, Gen. Ripper?
It’s a reason so many white men are checking out.
Why try if there’s no benefit?
Why risk in a heavily negative environment?
It’s why our military can’t hit their recruitment goals.
I’m just on cruise control while I decide my future plans.
I live the Scott Adams mentality.
Just avoid “them”.
Sounds like a distinct possibility! We’ll have to wait to see what happens.
Keep powder dry, we will see.
Ukraine doesn't just want war money...they want our money to pay Ukraine's everyday bills....pensions etc..
Using rough numbers that amount of money could round up about 7 million illegals and deport them at $2,500 a head.
WE HAVE RO WIN IN NOVEMBER!
Ditto and Amen!
“Our normal annual aid package to Israel is about three (3) billion. Seventeen should be enough to buy the place?”

The difference is that Israel has been attacked and is now at war. Thus the costs are way higher. We are not in a USUAL situation.
Our Israeli allies are fighting our common enemy : America-hating islamists and terrorists - All working together with Iran and their Russian allies.

Sell Israel as much as they need, but sell it, don’t give it. If they need a repayment schedule, then work something out, but don’t just gift it. And that pretty much goes for every other country.
“I can assure you it has not recurred, Mandrake. Women uh... women sense my power and they seek the life essence. I, uh... I do not avoid women, Mandrake. But I... I do deny them my essence.”
Cool smoke as many muzzies as you can ...thats what most of the cash/military munitions is about. Kill as many as you can Israel...good use of cash as far as I see it.
I’m for Israel but I can’t deny the kickbacks to the people who line Mike Johnson’s pockets in the Defense Industry inherent in any funding of Israel.
Those guys line Lindsey Graham’s pockets, Tim Scott’s pockets and the list goes on.
Is President Donald Trump looking at this post?
Bingo!
