King Charles III diagnosed with cancer, Buckingham Palace says

King Charles has been diagnosed with a form of cancer, says Buckingham Palace.

It is not prostate cancer, but was discovered during his recent treatment for an enlarged prostate.

The type of cancer has not been revealed, but according to a palace statement the King began "regular treatments" on Monday.

Buckingham Palace says the King "remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible".

In someways, I believe he is actually even more pathetic than Edward the seventh.


Unlike George IV and Edward VII, he at least had the love of his mom and has never appeared to resent her long life. As time passed, he had to know that his reign would likely be a short one.

After reading about the girl who committed suicide from the pain of the same ailment Kate has, one hopes that she is saved from a pregnancy in the future, fond as she is of tiny ones.

This is a recurring condition for Kate. She had it for all 3 pregnancies. Nothing ever said about any connection between this condition and her surgery. No connection known or assumed.
