Vladimir Putin's fierce rival and critic Alexei Navalny has died, according to the prison service.
The Russian opposition leader, who was the most prominent and persistent domestic foe of President Vladimir Putin, had been serving a 19-year sentence on an extremism conviction. He had been incarcerated in central Russia’s Vladimir region, 140 miles east of Moscow.
Navalny has been behind bars in Russia since January 2021, when he returned to Moscow after recuperating in Germany from nerve agent poisoning that he blamed on the Kremlin. Before his arrest, he campaigned against official corruption and organized major anti-Kremlin protests.

Let's talk about how you legally steal money from the Pentagon. What you do, if you are a friend of say Hillary or Obama, or want to become one is form a corporation in DC to prive support services to the Pentagon. If you are a preferred coddled minority or woman and even better if you can also claim small business status, you are on a fast track to getting preference. Support services mean providing folks to support the bureaucracy, at lower levels it means secretaries, admin assistants, that sort of thing. but at higher levels it means providing program analysis, budget analysis, and often "engineering" support which means helping to draft reports, PPT presentations, and assisting with management reviews of options. Now, when this really reaches critical mass, you have support service contractors writing memos that have to be answered by support service contractors. Meetings are all arranged and staffed by support service contractors.
90% of it is utter useless BS. But once you have one of these contracts, you as the executive get to rake a very very nice salary package off the skim. Oh, and you can lobby Congress and the WH and pay them skim off the contract so that you keep the contract and no one looks to closely at where the money goes.
It's a huge racket and does nothing. These guys don't build ships, or tanks, or aircraft, or missiles or radar, or .... They don't even do, at great expense, the kinds of logistics things that are now done at great expense by KBR and the like but used to be done by lowly soldiers and sailors.
It's all just a huge black hole in the DC metropolitan area swamp to take public money and create nothing.

Navalny was never a popular figure in Russia, his image was constructed by Western intel ( Bellingcat and shadowy NGO’s). Russian elections are next month and Navalny posed no threat while imprisoned. His party ( by the Russians who even knew who he was) was regarded as extreme nationalists. A member of his party assassinated a popular Russian blogger with a bomb, several months back
Maybe Navalny’s highest and best use now was to be used to try to discredit Putin by dying in jail.

We are being played and just in time to distract from the rapidly evolving military disaster in Ukraine, the stalled US funding for Ukraine, the upcoming Russian elections, the aftermath of the Carlson interview, the attempts to spread fear about some future Russian ASAT weapon…
Unfortunately I think either Navalny the anti-Putin darling of Western alphabet agencies and their lapdog media had to be martyred by or on behalf of his Western masters, or his clot sudden death will be used to make him a martyr and rattle more war sabers vs Russia.
Btw, Gonzalo Lira was an American/Chilean dual citizen with a Uke wife and family, living in Ukraine, whose crime was to produce folksy youtube and alt media rambling reports about his life in Kharkov and scuttlebutt about the Uke political and military situation. He called out Victoria Nuland’s vicious meddling repeatedly. He was arrested by the SBU to shut him up. And died from torture and deliberate medical neglect. To date there has been no call out to Ukraine by the US for his death.
He organized anti-government demonstrations and ran for office to advocate reforms against corruption in Russia, and against President Vladimir Putin and his government.
Navalny was a Russian Opposition Coordination Council member. He was the leader of the Russia of the Future party and founder of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK).
He was recognized by Amnesty International as a prisoner of conscience, and was awarded the Sakharov Prize for his work on human rights.

Can’t help but noting that the Left is making Navalny into the George Floyd of Russia (at least judging by FR).
Find ONE PERSON who is killed, possibly by the state, possibly not (who knows for sure, so just claim it so), and then hold the ENTIRE COUNTRY responsible for that death...much as they held all of White America responsible for the death of George Floyd.
It seems to be a tactic of the Left, when they have nothing to offer on their side - just try to get people at each other’s throats.

May Navalny rest in peace. He should’ve been smart and laid low and saved his energy for a fight he could win. Smart people stay under the radar and don’t stick their neck out. Sorry that’s my opinion. That’s our world.
