Denmark has pledged its "entire artillery" stocks to Ukraine, the country's leader has said, as Kyiv issued renewed pleas for all-important military aid in the face of Russian gains in the east of the country.
"They are asking us for ammunition now, artillery now," Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, said during the Munich Security Conference in Germany. "From the Danish side, we decided to donate our entire artillery."
Artillery has dominated the nearly two years of war between Russia and Ukraine, but Kyiv has depleted its ammunition stockpiles and fires far fewer rounds than Russia each day. It has been firing around a fifth of the shells Moscow's artillery batteries have been burning through.
Artillery and its associated ammunition have featured high on Ukraine's wish list of aid from its Western backers. Analysts and Ukrainian officials have suggested the shortages have constrained Kyiv's plans for its operations along the front lines.
But sending shells has depleted NATO stockpiles, and nations within the alliance have committed to upping ammunition production.

I don't "get" Orthodox icons and such, but it is heartwarming to see that Russia at least still honors Christianity. I cringe at the notion of the US regime announcing a military cathedral in this day and age - I'd fully expect it to be festooned with witches and satanic iconography.
The American people need allies, trod underfoot as we are by satanic global elites. For the present time that means making common cause with Russia, warts and all.
Well, according to reports as the Ukrainians were running away, their troops in the rear opened fire on them. They claim it was friendly fire, but we know what it was. Also, 1500 dead and 500 captured so far. More are still trapped.
Like anyone is coming for them, like they would fight, and like anyone would notice if they did.
A Norwegian film depicted events in Norway on the same day is “The King’s Choice” that includes the sinking of KM Blücher. The kings of Denmark and Norway were brothers.
Unlike Norway, the occupying Germans allowed the King and Danish government to stay in place with restrictions, of course. But the Danes got nearly all of their Jews to Sweden and actually demanded access to Danish Jews who were deported to Nazi concentration camps.
Ukraine won’t last long enough for any such stuff to get there.
All of them much better than the other side.

There’s only one sovereign threat to Denmark at the moment. Russia. Russia would have to go through a lot of NATO to get to Denmark. By that time, a handful of artillery batteries would not make much difference. And the relative handful Denmark gives will not make much difference to Ukraine. However, Denmark is trying to show the way for a host of other threatened countries that are not directly threatened now that it’s better to give all you’ve got now because whatever you have will not be sufficient to save you if Ukraine goes down to total defeat. This is similar to how the UK broke the logjam on tanks by giving Ukraine 14 Challengers. Fourteen Challengers are logistically more of a hassle to Ukraine than a benefit. However, it politically broke the German reasons for not allowing any German tanks. Suddenly everyone who had an old Lepard was donating it to the cause because Germany finally said, “okay.”

The Russians had an orderly withdraw to the east bank because they knew Ukraine was likely to blow the dam. It make the Russian commander look like a genius for doing so.
.
The Russians had an orderly withdraw to the east bank...In other words the ruZZians bravely ran away from territory they claim sovereign.
All it does, realistically, is get more people killed with the same eventual outcome.
This isn’t an all volunteer crew.
I find that pretty messed up.
Unlike Ukraine, the Russians care about the lives of their troops. That is why for every Russian killed, 8 Ukrianians die. In other words, the Russians are not stupid like Ukrainians.
Yeah, very curious. Why give away your stock if you are scared of an invasion.

LOL - I find it interesting that Ukrainian crews of Leopard tanks reportedly abandon those tanks at the first signs that Russian military has spotted them. This is because the Ukrainians know that the Russians consider the Leopards to be priority targets and any incoming fire will be directed at the Leopard. Just sayin’.
.
I said thank you.
Again thank you.
It’s a historic dictum of naval warfare. A ship should never duel with coastal artillery.
The Marines at Wake Island gave the Japs a very nasty surprise with a handful of 5” 51s. The Jap commander was convinced they had 14 inch guns until they learned the reality.
Fine, leave us out of it.
