The top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee said Wednesday that the Republicans’ impeachment inquiry into President Biden has been demolished by new revelations that Russia might have played a role in drumming up false allegations about the president’s finances.
“The impeachment investigation essentially ended yesterday, in substance if not in form, with the explosive revelation that Mr. Smirnov’s allegations about Ukrainian Burisma payments to Joe Biden were concocted along with Russian intelligence agents,” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) told reporters in Washington.
Republicans have leaned heavily on the declarations of Alexander Smirnov, a former FBI informant who alleged that Biden and his son, Hunter, both received $5 million in dubious payments from Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company on whose board Hunter Biden sat.

So Smirnov was a trusted and productive FBI asset for years working with Russians and providing valuable intelligence for the US. But now American intelligence is accusing him of lying (about Biden) and working with Russians? Looks like the FBI is throwing him under the bus to protect the Bidens.
Believing that Smirnov is lying because the FBI says so is like believing that Mar-a-Lago is worth only $18 million because Engoron says so.

The real question and point of investigation, is what else was Jill B doing in Ukraine in 2014? While Hunter B’s connection with Barisma has been reported by Giuliani and others, no one has yet suggested a Jill B connection. No one has even yet suggested that Jill is possibly a full-fledged member (or more) of “The Biden Crime Family” (to quote Giuliani). AFAIK, no one has ever reported that Jill B set foot in Ukraine, and this happened 10 years ago.
