Looks like Adam Schiff's big-dollar campaign of weirdly nice attack ads against Republican Steve Garvey in the California Senate race is not quite having the effect he thought it would have.
According to a left-leaning poll from the Los Angeles Times and UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies …
In the primary, Garvey is favored by 27% of likely voters, Schiff 25% and Porter 19%. Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Oakland) garners 8%, while 12% of likely voters pick a different candidate and 9% are undecided.
That's right: Garvey is now ahead of Schiff in a year when President Trump is leading all polls.

Of course, [Schiff] wants to goose Republican turnout.
It's just that that's a risky game when jackasses play it. …
… This 27% that Garvey has -- coming from a leftwing pollster and a much lower base in previous polls -- suggests Schiff may have motivated more Garvey support than he meant to. There is no way he would like to see polls with this much rocketing support for Garvey (topping even his own) with such a poll.
I won't say it won't work at this point, given that Schiff's vote is divided between many leftist candidates who are likely to pick Schiff over Garvey if those two emerge as the top two in November. But stranger things have happened in politics and this may be a wave year for President Trump. Could the unwaveringly pro-Trump Garvey ride those coattails as Democrats stay home, not wanting to give their votes to senile Joe Biden?
It's possible because anything is possible at this point. Schiff may be in the comeuppance of his life now that Garvey's voters now top his, and they haven't stopped rising. ***

That’s the spirit!
I met Garvey and Steve Yeager while they were signing baseballs for a dog rescue at the Pet Expo around 2016. I got Garvey to sign a baseball for a $20 donation plus a photo with the dogs I was holding (still have both).
Both are good guys.
Steve Garvey is there to win the other spot in the open primary and he will get there.
Garvey will certainly get his 40 percent worth in the fall at this point losing to Schiff.
Way back when about 1980 remember seeing Steve Garvey on TV with Phyllis Schlafly and of course Phyllis all about politics and the ERA (Equal Rights Amendment).
The host I think Merv Griffin asking Garvey about that stuff and Garvey saying ERA meant Earned Run Average to him.
What a turnaround after all these years.
Our family voted for Steve Garvey. Adam Schiff has got to be the lowest form of a politician.
There could be many ways to split the voter pie here. Garvey leading all 3 Dems is pretty good. Ya’ kinda wonder how many Schiffters are loyal to his incumbent name recognition. Many who voted in his district for him, might not want to see him perform as a senator. Others outside his district could break for Garvey.
Run the Ed Buck stuff. Have fun with it. You also have Schiffs arms dealer fundraiser.
Porter annoys me less than Schiff, but the die is cast. Schiff will win in November by 30 over Garvey. Just gross.
So 2 white guys end up on the election ballot, and the dems have 46% and the rep has 27%. Maybe all of the conservative hispanics will vote for the rep. Maybe.
...the top two will be on the ballot in November. So, we could be seeing Garvey vs. Schiff then...
Then Schiffhead wins 65-35. That’s just modern California.
I am in CA. ALL MAIL IN VOTING, this is a death nell for republicans winning ANYTHING!! Every damn state with ALL mail in ballots is and will ALWAYS BE one party rule!! Adam Schiff is utter SCUM if we have enough people on the ground AND attorneys at the ready to overcome the fraud Garvey could win!! Garvey will be a RINO but Schiff is such utter SLIME utterly nauseating SLIME I will take Garvey!!!
The Chinese spent good money buying Pencil Neck and they’ll make sure he wins.
I’m sure Reagan run for Governor got similar crap from dumbocrats.
Schiff is very much a swamp creature. Makes one optimistic that a few voters in Glendale, California have some common sense.
“Porter annoys me less than Schiff,”
Of course, Schiff is the worst of the worst. We will never forget nor forgive him for smugly lying through his teeth about “Russian collusion.” So, yes, I suspect everyone here would agree that Porter is less annoying than Schiff. Everyone in the world is less less annoying than Schiff. Even Dementia Joe, to be honest. With that said, to raise the white flag and hope for a Schiff vs. Porter runoff just seems wrong to me. I know Garvey’s chances are infinitesimal BUT they are not zero. Once in a blue moon some crazy upset happens.
sociopathic liar and pelosi buttboy schiff and communist lee have spent a few million running ads saying “Garvey voted for trump twice.” To that I say that’s one of the top reasons I voted for him. They don’t get it.
It’s actually funny, Lying Schiff is running ads basically Supporting and Urging voters to vote for Steve Garvey by listing all the great accomplishments of Trump and aligning Garvey with MAGA Trump.
Thanks for posting that BB card. I saw the term Dodger Steve Garvey a could of time and I took is as draft dodger. I’ll vote for him too now.
They are running a TV ad here talking about how Garvey has voted for Trump twice and he wants to build a border wall. “Steve Garvey is to Conservative for California!” First time I saw it I said this is some reverse advertising!! Haha
I think I still have that card…
