Fani Willis Stung by Potential Last Minute Testimony Against Her (during closing statements)
Newsweak via MSN ^ | 3/02/24 | Kate Plummer

Fani Willis could be hit by last minute testimony from a key witness in her ethics hearing, as she fights to remain on Donald Trump's election interference case.

Prosecutors have requested that Stan Brody, who works at Acumen Wines, give testimony during closing statements in Willis' ethics hearing, after he told CNN last month that he hosted the Fulton County district attorney, and a man he later learned was special prosecutor Nathan Wade at a two-hour wine tasting in early 2023.

Brody said that Willis paid with cash for two bottles of wine, each valued at roughly $150, and for the $50 tasting.

Last month Willis gave evidence in a two-day hearing following accusations by former Trump staffer and co-defendant Michael Roman that she was having an affair with Wade, a special prosecutor she hired in the high-profile case. It was also alleged the pair had benefited financially from taxpayers' money.

Willis and Wade later admitted they had a relationship but denied a conflict of interest. The timeline of their relationship has emerged as a key point of contention, and Roman has said it started earlier than they admitted. Trump's lawyers examined phone records alleging the pair were in a relationship before the Georgia election-fraud case began. Newsweek contacted Willis via LinkedIn for comment.

In a court filing on Thursday, prosecutors requested that Brody's evidence be admitted in court, through an affidavit and through verbal testimony.

"Mr. Brody is available to testify at the Court's convenience, and should the Court decline to accept this affidavit, the State respectfully requests that Mr. Brody be permitted to testify at the hearing currently set in this matter," prosecutors wrote, according to a filing screenshot posted on X, formerly Twitter, by AJC reporter Tamar Hallerman.

Egads! Does anybody read at least to the 5th paragraph posted here?

It's not so much about the money as the timing.

This helps prove she was lying about when they had a relationship and that there was a conflict of interest.

If you had watched the closing testimony yesterday this would have been obvious.

Under Georgia law, it's all about conflict of interest, this is what disqualifies her.

Then why do the prosecutors want to bring this guy in? Cuz they think it helps her to prove she paid cash and there was no relationship there. Egads to you

“You never reported on your annual filings the receipt of ANY money from your lover! You have no receipt of paying him back. Fani, your goose is cooked!”

In the very slim chance that Fat Fani is indicted for corruption she would never pass a forensic financial audit. Will she claim Fulton County pays her in cash? Or that she takes her payroll check to some cash checking joint and gives them 5-10% of the check to cash it? She is lying scum that at a minimum should be disbarred.

I am finding more and more “mainstream” articles to be completely incomprehensible.

Thank a teacher.

I am assuming that the racist practice of diagramming sentences has been abandoned along with professors ignoring the “who, what, when, where” rule.

The judge said he has seen enough. He has his decision. That’s why he didn’t accept it. He ended it. Now he is going to write for two weeks. My guess is this means she is gone. He would (I think) have ruled from the bench if he was going to rule for prosecution. Less likely, but still possible he will rule for prosecutions and wants two weeks to make it look like he deliberated on it and came to a wise decision. This judge whatever he does is holding the world biggest sh*t sandwich. Talk about a now win situation for him.

Agreed that the judge saying he doesn’t need any more evidence to me, says that he’s made his decision that she’s a goner. And rightfully so. And the entire office needs to be disqualified because they’re cut from the same cloth as her. This judge is doomed for sure if he rules in her favor. He may get blow back from the black community if you rules against her but he’ll never work again if he rules for her

I think fat fanny testified that the relationship was over by Jan 2023. Another lie under oath.

I was thinking the same. Maybe there was some low-key amorous goings-on at the wine tasting. Maybe they were tasting the wine on each other’s tongues? (Gag me.) The wine guy could testify to their fondling each other “Lauren Boebert” style while slurping down the overpriced Boones Farm. Would go a long way to show the affair started earlier. In my day, a couple bottles of wine and a “hot” woman (gag me again) could certainly get my hormones going. Are there any parking lot surveillance cameras at the winery? There could’ve been some backseat action after the wine tasting.

“Talk about a now win situation for him.”

I know he worked for her.

You’ve gotta believe she was the Worst Boss Ever, especially to white men.

I’m hoping he’s into revenge and “just desserts”.

My understanding is that if the judge opens up for more testimony the defense has a witness that served Wade and Bennett diner in the last 5 weeks. Showing wade lied to the court about not coordinating testimony with Bennett.

Will she claim Fulton County pays her in cash?

The fact that he bought tickets for these lavish trips was reportable. He worked for her. The paperwork is very clear everything over $100 is reportable. It doesn't matter how the transaction goes down - cash - donation in kind - credit card - bitcoin... The judge, in the world's eyes, has a slam dunk case to dismiss the entire DA's office over this sham wow show. Defense Attorney Harry MacDougald laid it out point by point and hit a homerun out of the park. They should have put him up first!

FANI gets all of her cash by going to New York and gets in the CASH CAB!!

She doesn’t seem to realize, it only requires the ‘appearance of impropriety’ to be disqualified. It’s well beyond that.

She admits the relationship, trips, and cash based ‘reimbursements’ without any record keeping - along with a witness being shown his own texts mentioning the relationship before Fani admits to.

It’s a slam dunk in terms of meeting that standard.

Perjury charges should come out of this. Against both her and her lawyer lover.

Both should be disbarred as well.

Shameful. Because none of those things will happen. And I sure wish I were wrong on that, because even to the people clinging desperately to the notion that we were a Constitutional Republic, all of us subject to the same laws...we ain’t, and we aren’t.

I was thinking it would hurt Bradley’s teatimony as I believe he had said that he hadn’t spoken to Wade for months.

She admitted that in earlier testimony. Apparently, she has a big trash can piggy bank at home where she throws thousands of dollars in regardless of the source, and just scoops it out when she needs it. I am sure that the IRS is OK Dokie with that...Although, she does probably have an enormous mattress that she could stuff.
