MSNBC’s Scarborough: Far Right ‘Invented a Religion,’ Abortion Is Not a Christian Issue
Breitbart ^ | 03/05/2024 | Pam Key

Posted on 03/05/2024 11:35:14 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said Tuesday on his show “Morning Joe” that the far right invented a religion and made “abortion not just as a political issue” but a “religious issue.”

Scarborough said, “This bears repeating because of the self-righteousness of so many on the far, far, Trump right, they’ve invented a religion. This Christian nationalism, they’ve invented a religion. It keeps getting more extreme every week. IVF now is, I guess, the devil’s playhouse. Mike Pence had kids through IVF. So now what, is he a heretic? Are they going to hang him? They wanted to. Is his wife a witch? Are they going to have witch trials now?”

He continued, “When I was in high school, the Southern Baptist Convention was pro-choice. In fact, they were pro-choice from the time of Jesus through the time the Beatles broke up. Wait, there’s more, not only through the time the Beatles broke up, were these Protestant denominations pro choice, they were pro choice through the time the Eagles broke up.”

““When I was in high school, the Southern Baptist Convention was pro-choice.”

Never true. In 1971, the SBC passed a resolution saying:

“Therefore, be it RESOLVED, that this Convention express the belief that society has a responsibility to affirm through the laws of the state a high view of the sanctity of human life, including fetal life, in order to protect those who cannot protect themselves; and

Be it further RESOLVED, That we call upon Southern Baptists to work for legislation that will allow the possibility of abortion under such conditions as rape, incest, clear evidence of severe fetal deformity, and carefully ascertained evidence of the likelihood of damage to the emotional, mental, and physical health of the mother...”

Most at the time did not know the courts said “mental health” made abortion for almost any reason acceptable.

By 1980, as more became aware of what abortion meant and how laws were interpreted, the SBC passed a resolution saying:

WHEREAS, Southern Baptists have historically affirmed the biblical teaching of the sanctity of all human life, and

WHEREAS, All medical evidence indicates that abortion ends the life of a developing human being, and

WHEREAS, Our national laws permit a policy commonly referred to as “abortion on demand,”...

Be it finally RESOLVED, That we favor appropriate legislation and/or a constitutional amendment prohibiting abortion except to save the life of the mother.”

Molech worship was the offering of sacrificing babies to this pagan god. Scarred Burro the donkey needs an education.

The Didache, one of the earliest Christian writings not in the New Testament, condemns abortion.

Joe needs to go to Church more often. The 6th commandment says “Thou shalt not murder.”

As a Christian I take the side of God, not man!

As written by David in the book of Psalms ..

“Your eyes saw even the embryo of me, and in your book all its parts were down in writing.”
Psalm 139:16.

David does not simply say “an embryo” but “the embryo of ME” revealing that David’s life began when he was conceived, long before his birth.

Under inspiration by God, David also revealed that at conception the development of his body parts was according to a plan, or detailed ‘written’ instructions, which made him the person he was.

As a Christian, the choice is clear.🤔

You are so welcome!

All the words and all the feelings of that scripture were put into David’s heart by God.

I leaned pro abort years ago and then ... I became a Christian!😁

What causes this kind of mental breakdown? Scarborough seems intent upon being the preeminent poster child for the malady of TDS. Why make such absurd and obviously fraudulent statements, when anyone can disprove and debunk them? Wokeism is a form of extreme mental illness, there is not much else to say.

Perhaps when this former adult is out of a job, and only appears in the media on a seldom watched YouTube channel, like Keith Oberman, that the public can have its suspicions confirmed: this man is an idiot.

Mssr. Scarborough has the memory problem, not me.

“Christian Nationalism” has been a thing since nee 1985, making it nye 40 years. Part of that has always been the abortion issue...winning the country back forr God and the cessation and repentance of a national sin dovetail nicely, donchathink?

“When I was in high school, the Southern Baptist Convention was pro-choice.”
*************
I don’t believe the Southern Baptist Convention ever promoted abortion on demand. Since the SBC does not dictate or rule from the top down, liberalism at one point seeped into many congregations.

There were churches, pastors, and seminary professors that expressed the liberal view that the Bible “contained the Word of God” (each person could pick and choose what parts they wanted to believed), and promoted going along with the general population, in order to win them to Christ, even if what was done was in direct opposition to the literal Word as written in the Bible.

The majority of SBC churches at the time followed the path that the whole Bible (Old and New Testaments) is the Word of God and inerrant, and brought about a reformation which pushed the liberal professors out of the seminaries. Some seminaries did not conform and eventually were no longer associated with the SBC.

Of course we are seeing the same thing with the United Methodist Church presently. Unfortunately the ruling body does rule from the top down and churches are having to leave, in order to maintain a Biblical orientation, rather than going with the crowd following the wide path.

Some denomination have embraced tolerance to such an extent that they no longer look anything like a Biblical faith, and are evolving into the image of the church at Laodicea (”known for its wealth, luxury, and lukewarmness”).

Genesis 9:5-6
5 And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.
6 “Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind.

Seems as though, if abortion is murder, Joe is not against it. Say, was he ever absolved of killing his employee? He gets the presumption of innocence in court as a legal principle, but to walk with his head up amongst fellow citizens, shouldn’t he have to prove something?
