As democracy remains under siege, it has been frustrating to watch how the press covers politics these days. I am reminded by lessons that came to me during the Nixon years as a CBS News correspondent, which I’ll add here:
1. Enough with Both-sides-ism
When one side lies intentionally and repeatedly, they are no longer entitled to the benefit of the doubt. They should be held to account, right away. Do not simply repeat the narratives they spew.

It does appear democrats have done just what you've said... They've also gained control of our 'intelligence' services, the FBI and DOJ. It's scary how quickly they pulled it off.
Courage.
....to knowingly lie to sabotage your political enemies.
“He was part of the problem that got us into this position, and if he wasn’t arrogant enough to attempt to toss a memo into the race, a memo that no military person I’ve ever worked with or seen would create (CYA memo my ass) that somehow fit directly into accusations about Bush’s past and corroborated those outrageous claims, their side might have had a chance to win that time, but he got busted and tossed out on his ass.”
It’s amazing how a small detail such as the font used on the “memo” was enough to unravel the entire lie.
Thanks for the “memories”!
Yep we were there!
LOL - the good old days. Rather’s such a twit.
The Left owes Nixon a huge posthumous public apology after what that have done to Trump with the Russian collusion lie and other illegal actions.
I thought the name was familiar. He’s got a year of seniority on me here. Iguess he found a wider audience on Twitter or maybe just more spirited debate. I have an account on X but rarely visit it or any other platform. Maybe I’ll add him to my follow list. I only have 3 people on it and two of them are liberals (Glenn Greenwald and Matt Taibbi).
It was FReeper Buckhead.
He was one of the attorneys last week at Fani’s hearing. One of the good guys.
Glenn Greenwald and Matt Taibbi are excellent follows on X, and good journalists.
Ahhhh Buckead! Those were the days. The error was so obvious but nearly impossible to notice. Also, it is really easy to explain the inaccuracy, which makes it so powerful.
IowaHawk (David Burge) is still around on X.

Mostly doing vintage car IDs, unfortunately. Loved his political commentary.
It’s was a freeper Buckhead that point out On the night that Dan Rather had a “bombshell report” on W Bush military record...that the proof being what was claimed was a copy of a teletype of his miltary record
Was a fraud.. at it was in Modern typewriter font.. not old style military teletype font and so a Forgery.
I figured Twitter wasn't worth the time of day, after that.
It wasn’t a typewriter at all. It was high resolution laser printer output, all nicely kerned with variable letter spacing via Microsoft Word. Which simply did not exist when the memo was supposedly written. An IBM Selectric typewriter would have been state of the art for a military unit office, and quite likely something lesser would have been in place. Fixed pitch.
Thus says the pathological liar Dan Rather ...
You know, Kenneth is actually right, here.
The democrats do lie all the time and we should stop putting up with it!
Buckhead definitely belongs in the Freeper hall of fame. A patriot and hero.
