Academy Awards host Jimmy Kimmel waited to the very end of the Oscars broadcast on Sunday to take aim at former President Donald Trump and the MAGA base.
“Isn’t it past your jail time?” Kimmel said, sending the celebrity audience into paroxysms of maniacal laughter and enthusiastic applause.
Just before the final award of the evening, Jimmy Kimmel read aloud a Truth Social post that Trump published during the broadcast in which the former president mocked Kimmel’s hosting abilities while also noteing the Oscars’ poor ratings in recent years.
“Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars,” Trump wrote, suggesting ABC replace Kimmel with Good Morning, America co-anchor George Stephanopoulos.
Trump called Sunday’s Oscars “a really bad politically correct show.” He also called on the Academy to give Oscars based on merit. “Maybe that way their audience and TV ratings will come back from the depths.”

The Hollowoodies are the reason I only go to the movies once every 10 or 15 years. When idiots start having orgasms over crap like the Barbie Oppenheimer Show, I won’t even walk past the theaters. I don’t want the stink on me. I go down the other side of the street.
I remember in the early 60’s, the Oscars were something to watch. They had musical numbers from the movies that year and it was worth staying up for. I stopped watching the year that Brando had that Indian accept his award and chide us for their mistreatment.

Brando’s “Indian” who made a loudmouth screech at the Academy Awards was NOT a Native American in any part. The so-called “Sacheen Littlefeather” was in reality one Maria Cruz. She died two years ago and her two sisters came forward to say they had researched the family and there wasn’t a drop of Native blood in her family line on either side, that she was a poseur and a liar. She had less Indian genes that Elizabeth Warren who was at most 1/1024th Indian.
Kimmel is over rated, he is mediocre at best. Absolutely anyone could have done as good or better, so that’s the mediocre standard.
References to contemporary movies fall flat, because so few people have even heard about such movies, let alone actually watched them.
Here's another reason it fell flat with the in house audience. Not a single person there actually watched the response and probably don't even realize there is one given the media's inattention to anything "opposing" their guy.
