Academy Awards host Jimmy Kimmel waited to the very end of the Oscars broadcast on Sunday to take aim at former President Donald Trump and the MAGA base.
“Isn’t it past your jail time?” Kimmel said, sending the celebrity audience into paroxysms of maniacal laughter and enthusiastic applause.
Just before the final award of the evening, Jimmy Kimmel read aloud a Truth Social post that Trump published during the broadcast in which the former president mocked Kimmel’s hosting abilities while also noteing the Oscars’ poor ratings in recent years.
“Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars,” Trump wrote, suggesting ABC replace Kimmel with Good Morning, America co-anchor George Stephanopoulos.
Trump called Sunday’s Oscars “a really bad politically correct show.” He also called on the Academy to give Oscars based on merit. “Maybe that way their audience and TV ratings will come back from the depths.”

Makes one wish Bob Hope were still the MC. Not these mosern qimps. (Meant to say wimps gut gimps does it better) I haven’t watched Oscars since 1976.
Robert Heinlein:
“[T]here seems to have been an actual decline in rational thinking. The United States had become a place where entertainers and professional athletes were mistaken for people of importance. They were idolized and treated as leaders; their opinions were sought on everything and they took themselves just as seriously—after all, if an athlete is paid a million or more a year, he knows he is important ... so his opinions of foreign affairs and domestic policies must be important, too, even though he proves himself to be ignorant and sub-literate every time he opens his mouth.”
Trump had to once again elevate a minor celebrity moron to national notice by commenting on him in social media.
Was anyone watching?
Trump isn't shy about commenting on the weirdos in society.
The only reason Kimmel is the host is that NO ONE else wants to host these awards shows anymore.
Most of Swift’s songs are about her abysmal choice in men so it makes sense that she’d endorse Biden!
I wouldn’t expect anything better from Reading, PA.
I didn’t watch but read an article about who won. Not surprising that Killers of the August Moon movie got shut out. That thing was more boring than watching paint dry.
Oh relax. Trump said what we all thought
In my view Trump punches down too much. The Hollywood creeps are not worth his time
I don’t watch this stupid show of liberal stuff anymore.
Democrat liberal, Hollywood idiots.
They wonder why no one is going to their idiot movies anymore.
Kimmel,is a CLOWN.
Yeah, just take a punch and say thank you sir can I have another.

We don’t want a return to the “go along/get along, passive, milquetoast” Liberal-GOP wing.
We LIKE IT when our candidate hits back.
Don’t expect the base to ever support a Romney, McCaine or “W” ever again.
Ricky Gervais is always alive and well living in the Hollywood whores minds rent free they know how much of a loser they are it’s why they whine so often about normal things.
It looks more like they’re bent over and spreading their cheeks while taking their “hits.”
Disagree. Hollywood still has too much influence.
That just proves how dumbed down the world is becoming, especially the USA. I wouldn’t even watch those movies, let alone give them any prizes. But that’s me.
I haven’t watched the Oscars much for many years but for some reason watched last night. You could tell last night that they were trying to avoid overt political bashing because of the horrible ratings. Wasn’t a very political show until the end. Like the NBA and the NFL and MLB trying to back away from all the politics after ratings took a dive. After Direct TV had a 10% cancellation of NFL packages during the kneeling, the money-obsessed NFL saw the light.
