Our small rural church used to support missions in far-off countries. A few year ago we go a new pastor and our focus changed to missions right here at home and one about two hours drive away.

Our congregation is much more involved because they can see the results with their own eyes.

I sometimes make the point, that it helps to actually have a pastor who is available for the flock . . . instead of thousands of miles away.

For a long time I’ve believed that some of a church’s line items for missions in the budget should be re-allocated to supporting members to send their kids to Christian schools.
