More than 140 House Democrats are demanding that the ability to bar veterans from gun purchases/ownership under certain circumstances be added back to the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.
For decades, the VA has been reporting veterans to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) for mental issues, and such issues include using a fiduciary to manage one’s VA benefits. But this year, the Clinton-area gun ban was rolled back in the Senate by an amendment put forward by Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA).

I had my annual VA Doc appointment today. Among other questions, I was asked if I could “manage my own financial affairs.”
“Why, yes, I can manage my own financial affairs.”
This wouldn’t even be an issue, except for the laws brought forth by John Cornyn and other liberal Republicans. In fact, I don’t think John Kennedy would be forcing this, if he actually thought it would pass. This sounds a lot like what “Republican“ Susan Collins has been trying to expand the reach of Cornyn’s Anti-gun bill.
Why would the D’s do things like this, unless The Fix Is In, yet again, this time with the ‘24 November general election?

I’m a Vet. They ask me all kinds of ‘questions’ every year when I have my ‘mandatory’ physical to ‘keep’ MY EARNED BENEFITS!
Do I own any firearms? Of course not! My WORD! Who do you think I AM? I threw down my weaponry the MINUTE I was off the Battlefield! Grenades, too! WHY would I need a firearms at HOME? That’s for cops and active military! :)
Do I feel safe at home? Absolutely! (I really do.) *HEART*
How often do you consume alcohol? In public? Never! ;)
Vets aren’t stupid. And we’ve already got all the firearms and ammo we’ll need for the coming ‘Undeclared Conflict’ that Mother Government is DETERMINED to inflict upon us.

I have never been asked by VA doctors if I own firearms. I have been asked if I feel safe at home, if I have enough to eat. That is basically it.
