WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed Texas to enforce a contentious new law that gives local police the power to arrest migrants.
The conservative-majority court, with three liberal justices dissenting, rejected an emergency request made by the Biden administration, which said states have no authority to legislate on immigration, an issue the federal government has sole authority over.
Not settled the way I read it. The Supremes just rejected Biden’s emergency appeal. It still must play out in the courts but it is a small temporary victory.
“That means the law can go into effect while litigation continues in lower courts. It could still be blocked at a later date.”
It was a temporary decision.
I've recently taken it ones step further to argue that the federal border control agency should be shut down on 14th amendment equal protection grounds.
What about interior states? Are they entitled to the same federal border protection as states that share borders with Mexico or Canada? If the states are sovereign entities, then their borders are their own territory to protect equally, whether interior or facing a foreign country. Do away with federal border control, give that money back to the states and let the states maintain and police their own borders against illegal trespass.

The Supreme Court needs to make sure that the people not the DC politicians are running their states.

I have hopes that Ketanji Brown will be removed once it’s been publicly shown that Biden was not the rightful winner in 2020. A guy can dream.
