Gov. Larry Hogan (R-MD) enjoys double-digit leads over both of Maryland’s Democrat U.S. Senate candidates in hypothetical general election matchups, according to a poll.

The Washington Post-University of Maryland poll, published Wednesday, found the moderate Republican dominating both Rep. David Trone (D-MD) and Prince George’s County Commissioner Angela Alsobrooks (D) in separate matchups.

That’s ok. For Maryland, I love me some RINOS, too. He may be a fat wretched worthless SOB, but he’s OUR fat wretched worthless SOB. Go, Larry, go!

This is the reverse of red Kentucky supporting Andy Beshear. Maryland is essentially a suburban state and the suburbs of Washington and Baltimore are the dominant players. Western Maryland and the Eastern Shore are conservative, but their numbers are small compared with both the suburbs and Baltimore.

Well they must like him as governor. He is rich but afaik not super wealthy. He’ll probably need to play ball with the GOP. What we need is a sweep of both houses and the white house to get an agenda moving. With Maryland and West Virginia, that’s a good start.

He may be a RINO but with the right populist pressure he may be convinced on key priorities IF the leadership and the people are clear about what is needed. That IMO has been the problem. The politicians have had their own agenda, and this causes fractures. They need their feet held to the proverbial fire and feel populist pressure.

Good, maybe I won’t have to go against all my principles and vote for that traitorous jerk.

I do plan on writing in Ronald Reagan in the primary. (That’s who lockdown Larry voted for instead of trump)

A RINO Senator from Maryland is a superb result. The RINO Senators from Indiana and Oklahoma are disgusting.

IIRC, he wrote in his father's name in 2016.

Well he’ll vote with the democrats most of the time anyway, but I suppose another “R” might help us take back the Senate.

It’s Maryland. Don’t repeat the 2010 U.S. Senate race in Delaware, and throw away a winnable Senate race nominating a clown (Christine O’Donnell) over a moderate Republican (Mike Castle), accept that it’s a deep blue state and you’re not getting a Kari Lake-type elected there.

Yep, even Pierre Delecto was right maybe half the time. Hogan’s D opponent will be with us 0% of the time.

As a Marylander and a Trump supporter, I can’t STAND Larry Hogan. Rather have him there than a Dem, but he is almost one, himself.

An aside here, the western part of Maryland, is absolutely beautiful. The rolling hills are mesmerizing. While driving through, looking out over the farmland of extremely old houses and barns, you get a sense of what it was like for bands of troops moving through during the C.W.

I am trying to understand how his policies would be better than the rats. The same voters that elected Cardin and Van Hollen are going to vote for Hogan? Am I being unfair?

Even a RINO like Hogan counts as an “R” when determining the Senate majority and all the power that goes with that.

Sadly, he might not be any worse than Todd Young or Bill Cassidy, both from conservative states.
