Maryland Democrat Senate frontrunner Rep. David Trone has apologized for using a racial slur during a House meeting, claiming he simply misspoke.
Trone, a member of Congress since 2019, was talking about tax policies with Office of Budget and Management Director Shalanda Young — a black woman — when he uttered the word: “+-&_$$$.”
The term has been used insultingly towards black people for over 100 years, according to the Online Etymology Dictionary.
“So this Republican $#@-:&&, that, you know, it’s the tax rate that’s stopping business investment, it’s just completely faulty by people who have never run a business,” Trone said to Young without skipping a beat.

He must have gotten confused thinking about the good old Democrat days when he hung out with Joe Biden, Robert Byrd, Joe Manchin and many others dressing up in White on Saturday nights and marching together in support of things Near and Dear to their Hearts. Like Joe Bidens Crime Bill !

The remark is indefensible, far more than just simply misspeaking. Rep. Trone should immediately resign from his public office, and never run again. The country does not need racists like him.
Oh, sorry. I just noticed that Rep. Trone is a Democrat. I guess he was just tired. Let’s all move on now.

Say what he said, don’t provide cover for him. He said jigaboo, but he will et away with it. I bet he even says the N word when in private with someone he knows will not out him. Every democrat I have known has been a hater of black people.

He meant to say “bugaboo” but said a word that ends with the same two syllables. The damning part is that he was talking to a black woman when he said it. I’m going to say it was a Freudian slip. Or maybe not. I don’t care. I just hope he catches a lot of grief for it.
Facebook canceled a post for “racism” and gave me a warning about canceling me on FB when I made a reply about a serving of whiskey — I said, “I’d take a jigger of Scotch or cognac with my coffee.”
Well, he’s a Democrat.

The original poster is not covering for that filthy Democrat. He’s just being careful. The moderators here will quickly pull any post if the title has even a hint of vulgarity.
A while back I posted a link to a funny monologue by the late, great Norm McDonald. His target was Hillary Clinton. Unfortunately for me, the title of the monologue had a bit of vulgarity in it. Bye, bye went my post.
Freudian slip or not, it is very unlikely that a word one has not used aloud previously would slip out at the wrong time.
If this were a Republican who did this to a Democrat staffer, it would be a major national news story - not just about said Republican, but it would be said this is characteristic of *all* Republicans in office.

I posted an obscure cartoon of Adolf Hitler in a random Facebook group years ago. It wasn't "public". They canceled my post and gave me a warning about that. They failed to see that it was parody.
I usually make that clear. I obviously failed this time out. 🙁
I’m quite sure I’ve never used the word, but if I had, I would have never known it was a racial slur.
