Russia is not an Aggressor, and Ukraine is not a Victim
American Thinker ^ | March 31, 2024 | Alexander G. Tarkovsky

Posted on 03/31/2024 6:13:30 PM PDT by Veto!

It is widely accepted that the Ukrainian crisis erupted into a military conflict on February 24, 2022, with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Contrary to conventional wisdom, the seeds of the hostilities were planted about thirty years earlier by President Clinton and, later, by George W. Bush, both of whom recklessly pushed for NATO’s eastward expansion.

But yes we call this publication the "American Thinker." Russky go home.

So race or religion only matters
“White Christians “ have been killing each other for a long time nothing new here, but apparently of mon white Christians were being killed that would be okay?
Curious are the Chechnyians “white Christians”, how about the Chinese, Korean, Syrian, Nepalese, African …. That the Russians have hired also “white Christians “

While I certainly am glad the Soviet Union collapsed, and I think it quite likely that Putin yearns for days when the empire was stronger...I just don’t think you are actually engaging with the article and its subject matter. You have your high level narrative and it seems all the details and little matters like specific facts about the specific conflict must follow the basic theme of that narrative.

Well, there are no major Russian insurgent groups in Finland yet, if that is what you mean.

Is that the only difference you see? Really?

There is such a thing as being honest.

"Russia is not an Aggressor"

Maybe not, maybe Russia is just a large group of terrorists lead by a tyrant.

Russia chose to seize Crimea and launch a war in the Donbass in 2014. In 2022 Russia invaded Ukraine, killing thousands of civilians, including more than 400 men, women, and children in Bucha.

To this day Russia has been busy destroying Ukrainian cities, killing civilians, and committing a variety of war crimes.

Normally, when groups of people blow up civilians, destroy dams and power plants, and fly airplanes (in the case of Russia loaded with explosive warheads) into buildings we call them terrorists.

Are you claiming that Putin’s personal religion is some kind of Christianity?

Sounds like you just made up a hypothetical to justify your point of view, which doesn't establish anything.

Here's the reverse hypothetical, and it cancels yours out.

Imagine that Putin really wants to bring back the glory days of the Soviet Union. His plan is to recapture all of the nations that used to be a part of the Soviet Union.

He is starting with what he feels are the easy targets, and getting his troops positioned so that they can more easily take Poland, and then the eastern part of Germany.

What would be the rational thing for the USA to do?

Should we just wait until the Russian air force is glide bombing our bases in Germany, or should we arm Ukraine and Russia's other neighbors to fight now?

Too bad you aren't familiar with US history. In case you didn't know there is a country called Cuba 90 miles from Florida.

It was full of Russians, and their military assets from about 1960 until the Russians began to lack enough money to support Cuba, and they reduced their military assets in Cuba.

NATO and we have been the aggressors in Ukraine since at least 2014.

Did you just get that talking point from your boss or are you really that dumb?

Something really bad must have just happened to the Russian military in Ukraine since now we are hearing the lie about 14,000 people killed in the Donbass.

For the 100th time, that total includes people on both sides, and combatants. So at least half of those people were Ukrainians killed by Russian soldiers using Russian artillery and weapons.

Was it the utter defeat of the Russian armored attack near Tonen'ke?

So you are claiming that ethnic Russians in the Donbas decided to kill the other ethnic Russians in the Donbas who happened to prefer living in Ukraine?

So much for the Russian lie that somehow Putin is protecting the ethnic Russians.

First “So you” post of the day.
10 points!

And that “So…” post is a real doozy, followed by all kinds of nasty, slanderous accusations. You can kind of smell the sulfur and hysteria reading that one.

“… you buy into all Moscow propaganda, support the spread of the hammer and sickle flag, support renaming Ukraine’s Liberty Plaza as Lenin Plaza, support the Neo-Soviet movement, support Russian bragging about its ability to “win” a nuclear war against America, support the Speaker of the Russian Duma’s speech on the importance of “reversing the illegal transfer of Alaska”, support Russian land grabs from the Republic of Georgia and Ukraine, and you support Russia’s murder of Ukrainian children each and every day.”

Great balls of fire!

Umm…yeah…which is why Donetsk, Luhansk, and Crimea seceded after the violent unconstitutional revolution. What part of disenfranchised voters do you NOT understand?
