Trump backs Johnson amid Greene ouster threat: ‘He’s doing a very good job’

Former President Trump threw his support behind Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Friday as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) — one of Trump’s closest allies on Capitol Hill — threatens to force a vote on ousting the House leader.

Asked during a press conference at Mar-a-Lago if he supports Greene’s motion to vacate, Trump — while standing beside Johnson — said the Speaker is “doing a very good job.”

Is Lindsey on the team, because if he is, you’re 100% right.

Have you considered that Trump is walking a tight rope here? A challenge to Johnson at this point could have catastrophic consequences beyond just a FISA renewal (which can be overturned in the next Congress). It’s easy for us to demand that Trump fight every fight head on and all at once. We don’t have to deal with the consequences of going on offense before you have our ducks in a row.

>>>VERY wise and wonderful post, mbrfl!!!
I try my utmost not to question or doubt my favorite POTUS.

🙏Just praying his moves and policy decisions carry the day in November.

😢Despite what I’ve said here, I am quite distressed today to see that PDJT has fallen behind Brandon in the betting market odds.

Hmmm. I hadn’t heard that. I wonder what’s behind it. I can’t think of any news from the past few days that would help Biden. Maybe RFK Jr. increasing his public profile recently or concerns about Trump’s legal troubles could be having an impact?

Exactly the same crap we heard all through the first term! Oh no, Trump can’t react or call someone out or fire someone. He’ll get impeached or the press will say nasty things or this or that. I call BS on that now just like I did then. He needs to stick to his guns and call this Uniparty tool out for the shiv he put in my back, your back and Trump’s. If he plays patty cake again with these Swamp Judases it’ll be the same wasted four years just like the first time.

Yeah, I’ve seen that before, just like we needed his fellow swamp denizen Pence last election. You see what happened then.

Folks, this came from “The Hill”...Unless you know the full context of what and how it was all said, then I wouldn’t worry too much about this....

“We don’t have to deal with the consequences of going on offense before you have our ducks in a row.”

That was Gen. McClellan’s downfall. He didn’t want to go on offense until he had all of his ducks in a row. An excellent trainer of men, he , however, didn’t have what it takes to bring the fight to the enemy.

It was reported on Fox and other outlets too. You can also watch it on YouTube where Trump says Johnson is doing a very good job

Love PDJT, but his track record on picks is sketch!
Didn’t want To see Green do something like calling to vacate so close to the election, but what after that guy, Johnson did today, it might be necessary🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I’m really sorry for you that these things take time. Life’s not fair. But I’d rather have someone with a strategy rather than a posturing empty suit who promises everything but never delivers. Sunshine patriots are always disappointed.

Why should it? Trump is an idiot. He wants FISA abolished and supports the putz that saved it. Supporting Trump means accepting the fact he will appoint his enemies. And then cry about it.

You’re certainly right that you can take a cautious attitude too far. But I’m not going to second guess every decision Trump makes just because I may not understand his reasoning. He knows a lot more about the power plays that are going on behind the scenes than we do. Since I don’t have all the data he has, I tend to judge him more on the end result rather than on any single decision.

On that score card I give him passing marks. Maybe a B plus? I’m sure he’s made decisions that he regrets, but concerning the big picture, he’s advanced the ball against the enemy in a game that was always going to take longer than 4 years to play out.

Your attitude is why NOTHING was left of Trump’s administration a month after Biden executive ordered all of Trump’s executive order “successes” to oblivion. Name one “accomplishment” from Trump’s administration that survived 7/4/21. You can’t. You can’t because there were none. Why, because Trump took the milquetoast route of letting petty fear mongers, like yourself, surrender the initiative to the swampy pubbie backstabbers like Johnson, who you cover for and cow tail to even today.
